| just wondering if any one can tell me if you have the glasses and not the tv will that work and if you have none of them will there be outlines of red and blue??? also its a waste of money to buy them now as in a years time they will be half the price. anyway no channel on tv supports it yet so no point getting one. these are my own views and opinions |

| @#2 - Stereoscopic is a lot different to the old 3D with the red and blue stuff. If you have a 3D TV with 3D turned on without the glasses, it'll be blurry. You need special glasses AND a special TV unfortunately, which yes, is quite expensive at the moment. |

| Just got my 1st HDTV earlier this year, so I won't be buying one of these until there's a massive price drop & almost every game is fully supported in 3D. |

| I think a bunch of 3D channels are launching this week actually. ESPN is having a big to-do about one for the world cup. |

Until they get the TVs to be less expensive... AND get it so the glasses can be worn comfortably without being a hindrance to people like me who already have to wear normal glasses... AND get it so it's not giving you a headache after 5 minutes... Maybe I will think about it. Until then, 2D is just fine. |

| Actually, there are T.V. channels that already broadcast in HD 3D. I watch The Daily Show w/ Jon Stuart and The Colbert Report on Comedy Central in HD 3D every night. I bought my 65" Mitsubishi 1080p HD 3D TV over a year ago in anticipation of the new era of 3D. Wooo Hoooo! The 3D box and 2 pairs of glasses ran me $200 separately though, over the $3000 cost of the tv, but it was worth EVERY PENNY! |

Seriously.... 3DTV will always be lame if you have to wear the damn glasses.... When they 'invent' a TV that doesnt require you to look like a nub, then I will invest. Unfortunatly, even if I wanted to watch through the glasses, I couldnt... As I cant focus with both my eyes.. Meh... Not my loss :P |

| I agree with numbers 9 and 14. 3D technology is still little more than an overhyped gimmick that still has a way to go before it has a real "Wow factor". The technology still has too many issues and is too expensive to be viable for most gamers so I'll be passing on this for the time being. |

@#4 It's not to far away. It is a technique that is called Autostereoscopic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autostereoscopy). With autostereoscopic the viewer doesnt need any glasses, but at a cost of resolution lost. |

| Damn! I have 3D TV but dont want to pay the $550 for the goggles. Although MotorStorm and Pain might be kinda neat in 3D, its not worth spending $600 for a handful of games. |

Apart from being seriously underwhelming (the only efficient way of 3D imagery I've personally witnessed is head-tracking, which sadly is only applicable to one viewer per screen), there's one very major issue which I've not seen discussed too often. Bearing in mind that the "old" (read same, but with the old red/green lenses) system, there were quite a few people who suffered headaches within short periods of time. Needless to say, they walked away never to return. Having seen some of the recent "new" 3D films, I've seen (and seen reported) a lot more people who suffer headaches. Now consider this example: when the PS3 was released, one noticeable absence was the DualShock. Why? Because there were a small minority of people who had suffered "white spot", and other associated RSI thr |

Just to add to my previous post (cut short): ... and other associated RSI through continual use. From my reviews (and suffering headaches myself), there's substantially more people suffering headaches than reported DualShock-related problems. It's not hard to see that a few of these legal suits would result in 3D being dropped like a hot coal. The big losers over this would be the consumers who've brought equipment, and noticeably LG who have invested heavily, and are churning those sets out by the boatload. Sadly, I believe this will be looked back upon as either another laughingly poor attempt at 3D-with-glasses that will be ridiculed (with hindsight) in the future, or as a notable date in the timeline of the birth of 3d telly. But let's face it, the only 3D that will ever be |

And again, finally: ... that will ever be worth sitting up and taking notice of will be on a 3D display - not some half-cocked thing on a 2D screen. |

Crunchyfront555, DS3 was left off due to a lawsuite PS3 was going through with Immersion. Hard to argue that being the reason when the DS3 came out shortly after the suite was finished. Anyway, 3D is nice and all but just like HDtv when it came out, will only be adopted by a handful of people and few things will truly be in 3D. I also find it funny that you have to have a special TV to view 3D, but still have to buy a box with the glasses in most cases. Its probably possible to view 3D on lesser tvs with a box, but then how would the TV companies get you to abandon your HDtv you just bought from them 2-3 years ago? Maybe 3D will be a fad (like VR was/is) or maybe its just the tip of the iceberg. I know when I've watched movies like Avatar in iMax 3D, I enjoyed it immensely and onl |

BS than you need another TV, is stereoscopic, is it not? that does not in any way require a new soficticated tech. All it really is is a plain old HDTV that has the Stereoscopic as a TV mode (similar to how cameras and ipods have unique modes) and they deliberately made it incompatible with the "older" TVs for pure profits. deja-vu of PS3 dynamic themes... i dont really care about the side effects, but the tech that goes into some things really piss me off! |
