Aliens: Colonial Marines Season Pass Detailed

Aliens: Colonial Marines will be laying an egg in your guts and hatching in a shower of blood and viscera next week, meaning its high time SEGA announced its DLC plans for the game, right? Gearbox's FPS sequel to the 1986 Aliens movie will be offering up a Season Pass for its add-ons, with four packs in the offing.

Starting with yesterday's outed Bug Hunt DLC on March 19th, the Season Pass will also give players access to a further three packs, resulting in a total saving of 40% over buying the add-ons separately. Bug Hunt is essentially Aliens: Colonial Marines' version of Horde, with waves of Xenomorphs to shoot.

The Aliens: Colonial Marines Season Pass will set you back $29.99/£19.99/€29.99. The game itself is out on February 12th. Game over, man. Game over. Or rather, not game over.

  • I heard there is an online pass too. Is that true?
  • You know I would consider this, but I am not really thrilled about it being just a online mode or what ever it is. I want more campaign and stuff when it comes to dlc. I think I am gonna wait to find out what they have in store for the other 3 dlc packs first.
  • So is the DLC going to be like Borderlands 2 where its got campaigns or like COD when it's all online?
  • Still not sure if I wanna get this game or not. I think I might lol, But with all these games an all this DLC....ugh idk what to do...
  • i will decide when i get game whether to get it or not
  • I can't remember where I read it (it may have been the forums), but apparently there is meant to be campaign dlc too, which going off what they did for Borderlands it wouldn't be a surprise. Plus I think most of the online maps are areas from the campaign anyway. Looking forward to this.
  • Found link. It was on EU Playstation forums http://www.computerandvideogames.com/388850/aliens-colonial-marines-dlc-4-game-add-ons-and-season-pass-planned/
  • Totally agree about multiplayer dlc being the worst. Unless it is co-op enabled.
  • I disagree. Multiplayer DLC is a good way to break up the monotony, since there's only so many times you can play a Campaign. I'm a firm believer in more campaign or singleplayer DLC, but a mix of multiplayer and singleplayer is even better.
  • Multiplayer DLC is only good on games like COD, BF and Uncharted. Any other games that arent extremely popular, the DLC becomes useless after half a month because everyone stopped playing it.
  • Looking forward to this game in a whole. Also this Bug Hunt being like a Horde Mode time of thing makes me want it, I would like some more info on the other DLC's though. I don't mind online stuff that has to do with Co-op, I love Arena/Horde Mode stuff as well. But if they start releasing bullshit map packs like CoD then forget it.
  • No one outraged about DLC that should be included in the game? Horde mode released separately for extra money. Oh wait. It's not EA so no one cares.
  • my friend got the game early yesterday , he said he beat the campaign in 3 hrs on soldier difficulty )medium ( ... he said its a good add on from the excact ending of Aliens.-Alien 3 ,but just 3 hrs hrs,,,geese. i think most of this DLC is in fact part of the game...lol. watch it be just an unlock key DL.
  • EA announces one DLC for Dead Space 3 on its release date. Internet explodes. Sega announces 4 DLCS for Aliens:CM before game comes out. Internet calmly discusses pros and cons and whether they are interested in additional modes. Man, seriously? Do people not see the irony here?
  • @12 &@14 Exactly. I'm not supporting that type of BS. And honestly, I was really close to picking this up early in its life cycle. Now? I'll wait for the "Ultra-Turbo-Arcade, Touch-My-Body-Thoroughly, Less-Gay-More-Happy Bundle" Edition...*smGDh*
  • @12 Battlefield 3 had loads of DLC and thats EA yet no one moaned about that. Mass Effect 3 loads of DLC, no one moaned about that, another EA game. It's not like SEGA said they where putting it in retail game as a game mode then said it's going to be DLC. If you don't like the idea of DLC what going by you should be in game anyway, easy way to sort this out. DONT BUY THE GAME OR DLC. You won't be buying many games as most games have DLC now, deal with it or wait and just get GOTY editions.
  • When Aliens finally come to earth, what will we be known for to them..... The interstellar whiners about DLC! I never understood the bitching and moaning, just don't buy it. Simple as that. Speculating that the format of games will becoming this is simply that, speculation.
  • I played a demo of this last year. The online for this will not be popular. DOn't sucker yourselves into keeping a hold of the game by buying a season pass people.
  • @14 More people pay attention to Dead Space and EA because they are established. People are familiar with Dead Space because it essentially created its own scifi/horror niche which has been played by millions of people. The series is one of EA's highest grossing titles. Aliens and AVP, on the other hand, are not nearly as well known. Many gamers weren't even born in 1986, let alone seen the films. The last Aliens video game was so-so. Sega, once a major contender and cutting edge developer, has slipped into has-been status, putting its effort into Sonic games and mediocre titles. I think it's a numbers game. If more people cared about the Aliens franchise, there would be a stronger, more emotional reaction. But given the blandness of AVP, the smaller fan base, and Sega's overall track record, people would rather wait on the sidelines and see if the game is worth buying.
  • ......Aliens not well known...... what stone have you been under???
  • you mean the last AvP games killed peoples interest in half arsed games and to be fair this games has been coming out for the last 5 years hell i remember reading about this game when my xbox 360 came out
  • Another season pass announced before a game is released... This industry is getting worse and worse!
  • @19 AvP, though mired by its poor online matchmaking, was a solid and fun game enjoyed by many fans of the franchise. Both Aliens and Predator have a huge cult following and if gamers of today haven't seen these movies before like you suggest, then they must have been living under the same rock as you.
  • Horde should be as a default in game with aliens... but still will buy that season pass instead of the one for BO2
  • @19 Not being around when it was out is not really an excuse to not be familiar with the Alien franchise really. I was born 1991 which is about 17 years after the first film was released and I'm still familiar with the franchise, I've still seen the first and second movie. I don't like the idea that the third film completely negates the ending of Aliens, I don't care what Jim Sterling says SPOILERS AHEAD (Well for Aliens so really you should have seen this if your talking about Aliens: CM) it's dumb to have someone save three people and then kill them all off in the next film. I mean the only way you could be even more off a pis-take is if you brought back Bill Paxton's character Hudson.
  • Decent video :)
  • @25 Alien came out in '79, not '74.
  • @16 Tons of people complained about Mass Effect DLC, said they were just milking the franchise. And you apparently missed my whole point. I'm not complaining about DLC, I have no problem with it. Just pointing out that whenever EA releases day 1 DLC people lose their shit. Sega however can release a game mode that should be included in the first place for $15, and people say oh cool sounds fun.
  • @27 I know I just did the maths wrong.
  • @29 It happens to the best of us. ; )
