Next Skyrim DLC to be 'Redguard'? Trademark Rears its Head Again

More DLC for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is most definitely on its way, that much we know for sure, with the massively delayed expansions heading to PS3 this year too. The shape that the next DLC will take however is up for speculation, but with ZeniMax's (Bethesda's parent company) repeated extension of the 'Redguard' trademark, there's a possibility that the next add-on could be heading to south-western border of Hammerfell, where the formidable Redguard warriors hail from.

A Statement of Use has yet to be filed for the trademark in question, but given the fact that ZeniMax has extended the trademark - first filed in March 2011 - most recently in August 2012, it's entirely feasible that Redguard could be the next chunk of Skyrim DLC, unless of course it's a full-blown Elder Scrolls title in its own right. The trademark expires in February 2013 and will require extension once again before that time if ZeniMax wishes to retain it.

Third-person spin-off, The Elder Scrolls: Redguard took the series to Hammerfell back in 1998, but a return to the region could be interesting given the city of Dragonstar situated on the border, split between the nations of Skyrim and Hammerfell. There's certainly potential for a Skyrim expansion there...

Until something is officially announced however, this is salty territory once again.

	I'll just wait till its all out I have to many games in my back catalog and this years new releases to worry about this games DLC now and if it comes the current DLC and its on special offer then I may purchase it depends if I am not playing anything at the time

	I'll wait until all the content is out and has been reviewed but I still think Skyrim is the best Elder Scrolls game to date. I'm looking forward to Fallout 4 but again, I will wait until I see reviews.

	They just might as well cut there losses with this broken DLC, and start paying & working with proper QA testers in the future. To meny great games out this year, you know ones that will work.

	I wouldn't be surprised if most people already got rid of Skyrim. Great game but nothing much left to do if you've done everything possible. I think people got tired of waiting. We'll just have to wait for another installment of Elder Scrolls.

	@10 Yeah I feel the same way. Even if Bethesda did bring out the DLC now, I couldn't be asked. Better games have come out, better games are coming out, why would I waste my hard earned cash on Bethesda? I'm not annoyed, I just don't care.

	I'd be shocked if they make a full game named redguard... Since such a game already exists. Although it is in the Elder Scrolls Adventures spin off series. But maybe its a remake... which leaves me hoping that one day Daggerfall may be remade.. By far the best Elder Scrolls game and my personal favourite game of all time. I'll be honest, I had the Skyrim DLC on the Xbox version and it wasn't that good.. In comparison to the Shivering Isles Expansion for Oblivion and the Tribunal and Bloodmoon add ons for Morrowind. It seems rather boring and short. So I'm going to wait till all the DLC is released then buy it all

	Well I enjoyed the main game when it was out, got my platinum, not really too worried about the DLC. I was pissed that they treated PS3 so badly, but at the same time, I'll probably get the game of the year edition once it hits the bargain bin.

	I'm as pissed off as anyone. Nothing annoys me as much as getting short changed as a gamer on the basis of the console I own. This quote "More DLC is coming (once the delayed add-ons surface on PS3)." however is all I would have asked for in the first place. I wouldn't have minded waiting for the first DLC if they didn't release a second and then their intent for more while seemingly not working on/caring about the PS3 content. At this point, i've already platinumed the game (that I bought second hand). The only way I would play the DLC is if it were extremely discounted (which it won't be) or on a Ultimate Edition.

	Sold my copy awhile ago, Beth lost ,y money on all future DLC. Maybe if PS3 users were not treated like second class gamers, I could bring myself to re-buy the game for the DLC, but as far as it goes, I feel we have all been mistreated and I dont condone it, so they lost out.

	@16 Hey guess what? they already did. its called "The Elder scrolls Adventure Redguard" released in 1998. it's going to be DLC and since Hammerfell is bigger than skyrim it will only be a piece of the land or some random city. probably Dragonstar...

	Glad I only spent $40 on this release day. I got my money's worth, but won't be spending any more on it when game's like Borderlands 2 exist. And, mark Fallout 4 a used purchase, as well. Tired of all these DLC failures and antics of Bethesda, Capcom and BioWare.

	I hope it wil come out for PS3 to. Skyrim was the game of the year and they are 100% right. It was a shame with al the DLC for PS3 owners, but we will get it. So i only can wait when they come.

	Bethesda really let down the PS3 again; it seems every game they release, the PS3 always gets the DLC late. (Fallout 3) Although it's not directly affecting me now as I sold my PS3 copy to get it on PC, it's still annoying considering that it is taking THIS long to implement.
