| Time to get those NBA jam online trophies, thankfully I've already plat the rest of them. Trying to keep at least 1.5 years ahead of EAs closures. |

| As far as I know, the digital version of NBA Jam isn't affected so it's all good. |

The NBA Jam they speak of isn't NBA Jam:On Fire Edition I hope, or is it the much older retail release. |

| For all concerned : NBA Jam : On Fire is NOT having it's servers shut down. This only affects NBA Jam. |

The official statement is the same from last year where they close 2010 servers. Copy paste for 2012 next year guys. The behind he scenes work of checking to see if the servers didn't crash in the middle of the night. Sweet. I wonder if EA is buying back all unsold copies of these games since it was decided they aren't worth maintaining any longer. |

| #6 I don't think they will buy back all those games. The price will drop to 5-20 dollars and they can still make a few bucks from people buying those really old games, or just let the stores keep them |

| Yet game shops that still sell them never mention that the servers are shut down to be honest they dont have too really but they should remove the titles because its an half baked game now there online portion is offline |

@9 "The bane of trophy hunters..." When EA makes a lame staement, and their servers are in ashes....then trophy hunters have my permission to cry. |

To EA: please don't put trophies that involve going online and doing MP when you're going shut down the servers a year later. I don't play sports game nor I play them online. I don't understand what's great about playing sports game online when you're just playing 1 on 1 (unlike 18 players on Call of Duty, or 256 players on MAG), you can just play it with your friend offline (that's why a 2nd controller exist for). |

| I can understand you cant keep servers up for old games, barely none plays online anymore. It costs more too keep em running then too close em. Altho wish theyd bring a trophy patch making them singelplayer or something, having some old sport games forever stuck at low completion rate is kinda sad for those troph hunters out there. |

| They will make it about 6-8 months of trying to get in the playoffs for NHL 11 and getting screwed every month. Would have loved that plat. |

@14 - EA made over 1 billion dollars net revenue in Q2 fiscal 2013 according to their press releases. How is having very minor amount of servers (at least according to what they say about their usage) up going to put them into bankruptcy? At the same time even older Codemasters games are playable online. Only reason why EA is shutting those servers down is to make more people buy newer versions of their sports games. |

| I hate when game servers close but come on guys when a sports game has a new title only a few actually play the old ones let alone 2 new titles 2012 & 2013 so as a trophy hunter who has lost the chance to get FIFA WORLD CUP 2010 plat i know how it feels but i also know that i was too lazy to get them done and kept them hanging for over 2 years until i realized it was too late |

| In otherwords you better buy our latest games now, i dont think they should be allowed for the life of the playstation, games should not have a time limit, do i get money back if i own any of the games, no, and the best of it is the servers are the worst in any game i have ever played no exaggeration. |

I do understand why they don't either: A) Ditch including online trophies B) Since they know will be shutting them down, make it so if signed into PSN and fail to connect to EA servers (because shut down), award the trophies. |

| Maybe they are about to go Bankrupt as well. Look at both EA and THQ, they are exactly the same. They both make alot of third party games with movies and sports. Both release games that have online pass codes. And they don't make much money. THQ went bankrupt while EA was named worst video game company ever. |

| Servers closures suck but at least EA give warning. Spontaneous server closures suck and seem to be happening far too often. Boo for the closures but props for the warning. |

| Funny how so many other smaller companies can keep servers running for 5+ years, yet EA pull the plug on everything while thousands still play. I wish they would just cut the crap and release a statement saying they're hungry for more money. |

at 29 - who still plays fifa 11 or nhl 11 anyway? im not big into these ea titles - i buy fifa each year, play for a bit and sell it on, losing very little money. my two brothers buy these each year and play all the time and when the year is over, the game is left to collect dust. most people dont want to play a game that is years old, they want to play as their fave teams in correct kits with correct teams. i do however game some good memories of getting some online cheevos on nba live 06 i think it was back in 2009 when that server was going down and there was a big push on the sister site x360a to get people online (i think it had to be 200 gamers online while you play a match and we smashed it) and that was on the very last day possible. so its always a nice feeling when you pull it off, but not if you dont. |
