Fez Going Multiplatform, Coming to PSN?

Inventive platformer Fez is going multiplatform, inspiring hopes that the indie hit is heading to PlayStation Network.

Headed up by Phil Fish, Polytron released Fez last year after five years of development - a tiny chunk of which was covered in Indie Game: The Movie.

“We experienced abyssal lows, but also life-affirming highs,” Fish wrote on his blog. “Life-changing highs. Really, really high highs. It took everything but we shipped the f***ing thing. And it was a success.

“It didn't break any records, but it made more than enough to let me keep doing what I do. So I'm afraid you're stuck with me for a little while longer.”

“2013 is going to be an interesting one, too,” continued Fish. “For one, Fez will finally be ported to other platforms.

“Yes, I've heard you, dozens of people emailing me every day telling me how much of an idiot I am for not porting Fez to everything.”

It’s not yet confirmed what platforms Fez will be coming to, but PSN seems like a sensible bet.

In addition to this, Fish also said that Polytron has “a couple of new games in the pipeline.” No further details were revealed.

I heard its latest patch had a game breaking bug on xbla...lets hope they fix this if they plan to port it, because Id like to see this!

This could be fun. As long as the aformentioned game breaking bug is sorted out during the porting process. By the way a bug that isn't fixed because Polytron says the small amount of people enduring the problem doesn't weigh out the amount of money Microsoft let's them pay for releasing a patch.

Lets hope it won't suffer from same save problem the Xbox 360 version had.

@2 That's only if you started the game before the patch was applied. If it was after the patch, then you wouldn't have trouble.

@4: What problem was that? How boring it is? Or how effortless it was completing the game?

I'm pretty sure those problems can't be changed for this game.

I bought this two days ago on xbox when I realized my points from 3 years ago was enough for something ;p similar thing happened with Limbo. A little while later, a ps3 announcement happens. It gets better.. I beat Mass Effect this summer then that too comes over to PS3 ;p I guess any game that doesnt say 'Microsoft studios' when it boots up is one I should wait for an official PS3 release ;p

Fingers crossed that it doesn't come to anything else. The guy doesn't know how to make games that aren't horribly broken. There's no reason to want his crappy bug infested game on other platforms and every reason to hope he can't make games anymore and has to go find another job (preferably one that includes saying "do you want fries with that?").

While I was originally irked by the developers comments. My ire has passed. I hope this comes to PS3. It was the one game that made me consider getting an Xbox

wait if @11 is right then it might just be going to ipad and iphone b/c if he hates japanese games he wouldn't support a japanese system. that means ps3 and wii u.
