BioShock Infinite Launch Delayed One More Month

BioShock Infinite has been delayed an additional four weeks for some extra polish, Irrational Games' Creative Director, Ken Levine has announced at an event for the game today. Infinite had been scheduled to launch globally on February 26th, 2013, but it'll now surface a month later.

"Okay, guys, I have some bad news," said Levine. ‘When Rod [Fergusson, Epic's former Production Director] came on the project a couple of months ago – and this dude is living in a hotel nearby because he really wanted to work on Infinite – he really fell in love with the game. But he said, 'look, Ken, I really think the game would benefit from three or four more weeks'.

"I thought ahead to this conversation and went 'Oh God!'," Levine continued. "But at the end of the day, we've got to ship a great game. So if it's three or four more weeks, then it's three or four more weeks. So it's March 26th, now."

Announced in 2010, BioShock Infinite had been slated for a mid-October 2012 launch, before being pushed into February 2013 in a bid to make the game "into something even more extraordinary". It'll now be launching on March 26th, 2013. No doubt, it'll be worth the wait.

It's really great that someone wants to bring us a working game. I can wait that extra mounth if I get a better game with less glitches and the usual shit.

That's fine with me. I'd rather have a better looking game, that got delayed, then have a rushed piece of shit...like COD

@4 AC 3 was in development for 3 years. It really shouldn't have had any bugs if it was in development for that long. Nonetheless, after patches, it's still better then COD...cause, well, it isn't COD

Hate that they have to delay it so much.. But as other said, I rather them keep doing that to bring us the best of the best, and not some half-arsed buggy game. Think its a really good decision for them!

@3 While that would be nice, demos take time to develop as well. That would only push back the release date another few weeks.

Bioshock is 1 of my favourite series so if they need more time to polish it up then thats fine by me least we will get a decent game and i can wait another month not the end of the world i know this game is gonna be EPIC.

No problem, its already been delayed a few times, like a previous poster, I don't mind waiting some more for a good product. Thank gawd that they dropped multiplayer. I didn't feel it added anything to Bioshock 2.

@2 I think you mean then have a rushed piece of shit...like Skyrim.

Irrational Games did not make and had nothing to do with Bioshock 2, i'm looking forwards to Bioshock Infinite. four more weeks is nothing so they must have sorted out most of the game with the extra delays they've already had. I don't mind if a game gets delayed so they can polish it more.

The COD challenge: comment on a non-COD related story without mentioning COD. Go!

Yes, this will most certainly be worth the wait.
