| I doubt the PS4 is coming any time soon. Hardware above PS3 performance will initially cost an arm, a leg, and probably a lung or kidney too. Sony can't afford four years or more to make a profit on a new system while its in consecutive years of loss with zero investor trust. They need to push the products they have now to the limit. The PS3 has a life far beyond what most Sony laptops or PCs or phones have. If, and only if, they post profit for two years and then have a good medium term outlook, expect a PS4 or equivalent announcement. Probably 2016 or 2017 for 2018 or 2019. The 10 year cycle is irrelevant because of the quality of games possible on PS3. |

| I don't really care for the next gen consoles. Well actually I'm starting to hate the fact there is a next gen console. I mean honestly the PS3 and 360 is the highest gaming should go. Having the next gen consoles come out is passing the limit for gaming. If the next gen consoles come out, I hope the servers are linked to just one online and that the current consoles will still be used by majority of people. I spent too much on the PS3, it's online content, and on it's games. I hope it won't be twice as much for the next gen. |

| @8 your way off expect the Xbox720 late 2013 or early 2014 and PS4 2014, and PS3 just don't stop selling because of the PS4 you know. And almost every dev team are making next gen games (PS4) why? so when the PS4 does release it will have alot more games at launch unlike what the PS3 had next to nothing at launch. |

| With all the rumors of virtual software, games being tied to one system, etc... they can keep them in the warehouse as far as I'm concerned. I'm not going to buy something that requires me to be oneline to play it. I'd also hate to see how large the next gen games would be. ISPs already cap data in some locations which could cause even more hardships. I hate having to wait downloading some of the PS+ games especially when I have to remove others to have enough room to d/l then install. |

| @12 i stick with what I said. I do agree with you that an upgraded xbox will be out in 3-4 years, but i believe more to match bluray technology. Game devs will say anything to be in the news and game reporters will report any rumor they can find with nothing to corroborate the information, like this article. I wonder how many devs have a PS4 title in the works as a PS3 game approaches release or if they need a job. |

| my friend loves this gaming genre and has spent allot of time on this the apart from World of Warcraft and he only got his PS3 two years ago and if the rumor turns out to be true he will be pissed as he had a hard time to save up to get a PS3 |
