...It may not happen for awhile but COD may end up like guitar hero, heck all fps's trying the same old stuff/copying others (yeah even bf3 sadly...) may soon be "dull".
...well they would die, but sadly too many trigger happy kids out there and the odd cod fanboy defending what isnt evolving but is stuck in a time loop of quick scopes and panic knife attacks (although blops2 is changing that last one) |

Well BLOPS-2 is done, minus any post-launch patches of course, so it was fully expected that development on MW4 would be a go...
What is stupid about the whole thing and has been for awhile, is this shows just how much of the content they can actually re-hash into the next game when they only need a 11 month (or there about) development cycle to complete their games.
Thats why I dont buy map packs, its takes such little work to actually make a map pack, the $14.99 price they tend to charge for it, is outrageous.
I got my BLOPS-2 preordered. (because of not only bonus content, but also because of a discount I got for preordering the first day it was available).
I will also buy MW4 (I really do enjoy the games)...BUT...I think I'm going to start getting preplayed copies instead of buying new from now on.
And if they start requiring "online passes" for CoD games, then I'll have to say buh-bye to the franchise. |

@8 It's NOT a 12-month turnaround, COD has been two separate games developed by 2 separate studios each on a 2 year cycle. It's only been this way since 2007! Also, map packs are not just a "quick" thing at all. With every stupid 10-year-old looking for any slightest glitch, bug or hole in every map just to get an unfair advantage the process of creating maps is actually really hard and long-winded!
Anyway, sorry for jumping down your throat. I'm so bored of COD that even BF3 is collecting dust because it's just too COD-like, I only looked at this article because Billy Murray is a dude... he's probably winding up the "interviewer" (would YOU take somebody seriously if they call themselves "Jason of Duty" or would you talk absolute shit in the hope the little twat would bugger off and let you have some kip during your flight???) |

| The Call of Duty name is for marketing purposes only. The two series are developed by different companies and are released every two years. It's not the same as Madden coming out every year. |

Actually, no, they wont ever end this madness cause there is ALWAYS a fresh batch of 12 year olds every two years, its actually brilliant? They are all 9 and 10 years old now and dont know anything about this but in late 2013 they will have crossed over into the cool, almost teen years and will be on this like stink on poop, similar to how they are listening to Demi and Beiber songs right now, but in about a year they will discover Nirvana and The Doors and their little lives will change - same principle.

@34 Medal of Honor hasn't been good since Allied Assault. Whilst it may not have an annual release, EA just release Battlefield instead. Same engine, FPS, WWII setting, now modern setting. MoH/BF is practically the same as COD (IW/Treyarch).
Whilst I certainly don't see this as a priority, I look forward to playing what will certainly be a fun game. |

Nobody likes cod but cod always sells its really irritating.The only logical step is for the system manufacturers to put in some sort of lock onto who can play games online and if they are old enough. If twelve year olds cannot play cod they won't buy cod and eventually they will be forced to play kung fu panda 7 or some game like that. |

Hmm. I have the Hardened Edition of Black Ops 2 fully paid off. I will be renting MW4 to get the Platinum and then shipping it's ass back off to GameFly.
And who knows? Maybe in 2043 or some year like that, I'll find this lying around a game store's used game bin and pick it up to relive memories of the 2013 edition of CoD. The only bad part? It will be $30.
Seriously, though, I'm not one to hate on CoD generally, but this is taking the piss. I couldn't give two damns if you have the same characters in the story (although it would be dumb to have that after 3 games of them), but for Christ's sake rename it to something else! Let the name of Modern Warfare rest in peace, not go grave digging and see what value you can find from it. |

| I was truly hoping they would end MW with a trilogy and not run it into the ground further... If they would put their heads together and come up with a new campaign concept that isn't just the same COD games over and over they would entice infinitely more gamers. However, being a chick that has all the COD platinums, I can't say I wouldn't add it to my collection as FPS are my favorites. But I really hope if they are going to smother us in another Modern Warfare they at least bring Soap back! Such BS they killed him off :( |

| What's bs is that, didn't they at one point in time mention this side of the franchise was going to end. Something about them putting both IW and 3arc together to make just one great game.. BLOPS2? MW3 was a joke and people still play WAW and BLOPS more than MW3 to date. Coming out next week looks like a well needed change that 3arc really put a lot of time into. ^ How is Blops 2 different from anything before it? How is MW3 a joke... because you could never get good at it? Why would IW copy+paste? IW created MW, the critically acclaimed COD... so if anything, Treyarch has copied IW. Don't believe me? IW made COD4:MW, and Treyarch only copied it to Wii ROOOOOOOOOOFL. Blops fanboys, gotta love 'em.... trying so hard to convince everyone else, when in reality, they struggle to convince themselves.
