Dragon Age III: Inquisition Officially Announced

Today has seen BioWare formally announcing Dragon Age III: Inquisition via its official Dragon Age website, revealing the game's subtitle for the first time, with the developer confirming a few basic essentials about the third game in the Dragon Age series.

Here's what BioWare is currently prepared to say about Dragon Age III, revealing that it'll utilise DICE's increasingly popular Frostbite 2 Engine:

  • The next game will be called Dragon Age III: Inquisition.
  • We won´t be talking about the story of the game today. Though you can make some guesses from the title.
  • This game is being made by a lot of the same team that has been working on Dragon Age since Dragon Age: Origins. It´s composed of both experienced BioWare veterans and talented new developers.
  • We are working on a new engine which we believe will allow us to deliver a more expansive world, better visuals, more reactivity to player choices, and more customization. At PAX East, we talked about armour and followers? Yeah, that kind of customisation. We´ve started with Frostbite 2 from DICE as a foundation to accomplish this.

We'll keep our ear to the ground for more Dragon Age III: Inquisition developments, but for now, enjoy the lovely logo below.

Hell yeah about time! I loved Dragon Age: Origins as well Dragon Age 2, but Dragon Age 2 felt flat in similar looking environments, no party members armor customization. It's EA... so i hope they don't include MP by ruining SP.

I'm looking forward to this.

Yes , Origins was very good. DA2 was'nt really good.It was short and...well...Blah!, I hope they make better designs of the characters this time around

Didn't EA recently say that they hadn't approved any SP focused games at all and plan to never do so ever again?

... That doesn't bode well :(

this is going to be great
I have been looking forward to this since I first heard it was getting made
hopefully it is better then the second one though
that was not so good but I still enjoyed it

So how gay will it be?
Not that there's anything wrong with that, but considering the press DA2 had, I wonder if they'll amp it up for the art of it or tone it down for EA.

Quite interested to see what direction they take. Origins was brillant, but i think it worked better on PC. DA2 wasn't too bad but noy brillant - seemed like a watered down Mass Effect 2 set round Kirkwall.

I really enjoyed DA: Origins, but never even touched DA2 yet. Might give it a shot before this comes out.

Can't wait to see how EA will screw this up, DA:O was awesome but DA2 was a trainwreck of a game.

Only way I'll ever pick this up is if Bioware somehow fixes the save corruption issue with DAII's DLC, or comes up with a fix that will let me still import my save AND be able to include completion of the two DLC's with all my choices in them.

I just traded my copy of DA2 towards Borderlands 2 and got $6 for it. I didn't realize shite was worth that much! Think I'll hold out for Dogma 2 instead and maybe pick this up when it's in the bargain bin for $20.

They could of did alot more with DA2 I was pissed with the first demo it was like 20 min then the second was mad short and slow the only cool thing was the hunting game this one better be long like 120 hrs with alot of dlc to buy and no bugged trophies supplier trophy pissed me off but ima buy either way
