“Alongside Nintendo, we hope to grow the Bayonetta brand beyond where it stands today, allowing even more gamers around the world to experience the action of our beloved witch. As developers, we are working hard to make this a reality.” How is this true? More gamers around the world to experience the action of our beloved witch...How? If it is just gonna be on nintendo only how are more people gonna experience it? Not every is a fan of the turn that nintendo took when they made the wii. They completely focused on motion and said screw graphics and storys. That is where they lost my business. I know nothing about the wii u, but if it is anything like the wii then any good game brought to them will NOT be utilized to it's full potential. |

I don't know if it sounds like he's saying a sequel would never have seen the light of day, if it hadn't been for Nintendo wanting to build a more mature audience. If that is what he's saying, then well done for them getting a passion project off the ground! As for the Wii U, I just won't be getting one. I've already invested in a PS3 and Vita, and the Wii U has just not appealed to me in the slightest. |

Well, Mr. Minami, I'd still like to refute some of your points. All numbers below were taken from Wikipedia. - "Bayonetta has fans the world over, and we would never dream of alienating them from participating in the future of Platinum Games." ...Which you did, by keeping the game away from old fans, and releasing a sequel for those who never played the first game (lowering the chances of increasing your sales). - "Bayonetta is a brand that we want to see become stronger, reaching the hands of more and more gamers, so we have continued to consult with Sega, the previous gamefs publisher, on how we can make sure this takes place. [...] Our answer was a new partnership with Nintendo." ...By doing that, you've condemned the franchise. The Wii sold 96 million units worldwide, against a combined 130 million units for PS3 and X360. Right off the bat, you've lowered the potential number of buyers, since as things stand, the WiiU isn't being horribly popular amongst gamers, not to mention that most gamers only buy Nintendo consoles for Nintendo games (Mario, Zelda, Kirby, Pokemon, SSB, etc), leaving the rest of their gaming needs for PS3/X360. Hell, all Wii owners I know never bought any non-Nintendo games for that system, and also have a PS3, which they use 95% of the time. "Along with their new hardware, Nintendo, as a company, is dedicated to establishing a new future for the games industry, as you can tell by their record of passionate support for gaming." ...See, there's a problem with Nintendo as a whole. They focus too much on their home franchises, and very rarely allow games released on their systems to be multi-platform. This doesn't help the industry at all. It alienates everyone who doesn't buy their consoles, and hurts the publishers unlucky enough to see their games limited to a niche audience. Sure, every system has their exclusives, but those are usually a small percentage of the entire library of games for that system. It doesn't work like that with Nintendo, even if we're not counting their home franchises. tl;dr R.I.P. Bayonetta 2 |

Realistically, if not for Nintendo there would be no Bayonetta 2, so either way myself and many other gamers wouldn't get to play it. Hence my indifference to the matter. |

#13 I'm sure there's other publishers who would've accepted to take Bayonetta 2. It didn't have to be Nintendo. Heck, I'm sure Sega only suggested Nintendo because they became their former-rivals' new lap dogs. Another publisher wouldn't have made Bayonetta 2 an exclusive to a system whose hardcore fans never even played the first game. It'd release the game for those who already know it and were looking forward to this sequel. It doesn't make sense to me. From a business point of view, not releasing the game at all is way better than wasting money on it and get little to no profit. |

Im not gonna get wiiU for LOTS of reasons. Nintendo REALLY put out a crap console with shovelware games on wii, stupid Mii's and crap motion control..i know they came out with the improved motion controls but i had 4 original ones.. why the F@@#$ would i buy more controllers when they should of worked like they were promised too from start. Never again will i allow nintendo to screw me over. I grew up with nintendo, snes, n64.. just feel betrayed over wii... and now wiiU has nothing to offer.. more Mii's, friend codes, crap online, and still will be behind on graphics. So sad its come to this. And i agree with so many people posting here, just has nothing to offer me and the choice to go with wiiu is utterly moronic. Infact.. i ask myself.. how are they gonna make her half naked on nintendo console like in original.. wont they have issue with this? Guys excuses are LOL stupid... |

Hey Bayonetta fans, Platinum Games are taking their games somewhere else now, ok their taking their games to Nintendo but don't worry because they don't want to alienate you and you guys will always have the memories and remember the good times when you had their games. This is a good thing and it's not you, it's Platinum Games they just have to move on with their life. Nintendo can just give them the love and support a games company needs. Just know that Platinum Games will always have a special place for you in their hearts and when they need a quick buck they'll throw you a freebie. Ah how nice of them! Also they said they were so quick to run of to Nintendo they forgot to do something for you, it's this knife they want me to stick a couple in your backs. Not sure why though. |

| i hate this modern society we live in where its like if you are a fan of one thing you automatically have to hate other versions of said thing. "i have an android phone so all apple products SUCK" or "i have a ps3 so xbox must be shit". i see a bunch of people saying they are never going to play this game because they have a ps3 and that poeple who have a wiiu wont have played the first bayonetta. you know its possible to own and appreciate more that one console right? i am somewhat of a playstation fanboy but that doesnt mean i hate my xbox. i love my xbox i just prefer my playstation. people dont realise that by being a narrow minded fanboy of one system means they miss out on tons of great games, and you cannot call yourself a true gamer if you are going to dismiss a whole bunch of fantastic exclusives just because its on a system you dont like. whereas i can happily go from playing online uncharted to gears of war and break it up with a bit of zelda. now i know its different if you cant afford the consoles because they are pretty pricy and i respect that, im just talking about the narrow minded retarded fanboys who need to grow up and open their eyes |

More and more butthurt, good thing I'm getting the console as it is. I love my PS3 to death, but I'm really looking forward to the Wii U. I'm pretty much just in it for the exclusives, though . . . and hey, whaddya know?! Bayonetta 2 is one of them. Although, all in all, I'm not really sure if Bayonetta 2 will sell nearly as well as the first title being a Wii U exclusive, guess we'll see. |

@24 It's not that it's for the wiiU but that it's ONLY for the WiiU. I didn't buy the first game and I don't like it but for the people who did it feels like a strong betrayal, it might not be betrayal and it may be solely to make the game better but it still feels like Betrayal to those fans. Think of it like this, when the first game came out it was a risk. Bayonetta might have been crap and broken and gotten everything wrong but those people took a risk and bought it and now because of those people making up large numbers it's a sure thing. I think if it'd been a case of expanding so that it was also on WiiU as well as PS3 and 360 nobody would have been upset and the same goes for any other game that does this but to the fans because it's a WiiU exclusive it feels like they are part of what ensured Bayonetta 2 and now their going to have to buy a whole new console just to be able to enjoy it and like you said for a lot of us a new console is just too much money for us right now. |

What's everyone moaning about? Yes.. it was a good game Yes.. I enjoyed it No.. I didn't think it was "spectacular" enough to be annoyed that I won't be able to play the sequel unless I buy a Wii U. It's one of them games where if a sequel comes out "yeah, i'll play it"... if it doesn't "meh, not too bothered"... It's coming out on the Wii U, can't play it as i'm not buying a Wii U... not fussed, |

@27 yeah i completely understand where you are coming from, i was a huge fan of the original and the fact that some other fans might not get the opportunity to play it really sucks. i feel bad for them poeple but the way i see it is sega wasnt willing to make the game so nintedo jumped in and published it, so really although many ps3/xbox owners might not be able to play it, without nintendo jumping it NOBODY might have had the opportunity to play it. or worse, a company like EA might have got hold of it and run it into the ground. like i said i feel bad for the people who wont get to play it because they cont afford to spend money on a new console, i just get annoyed with comments like people saying "this isnt going to stop that shitty console from failing" like ive read on other websites and it doeasnt make any sense to me considering the console isnt even out so you dont know if it sucks and nintendo always sell shit loads when it comes to consoles so its just retarded fanboys |

I dont even care anymore... I mean I dont really care if it is exclusive or not its just that there is such an amazing disregard for the fans and their opinions... Its really quite maddening to read this partucular phrase: “Bayonetta has fans the world over, and we would never dream of alienating them from participating in the future of Platinum Games." What kind of effect did you expect from turning a multiplatform game into a exclusive? If you're going to screw your fan base at least you should be honest about it. |

Not that I care much about Bayonetta or Bayonetta 2, but reaching more people by narrowing down the audience to one console and a new one, too, so even less players will own the system you publish your game for? On a system by a company whose customer base is 70% casual players and 29% Mario/Zelda/Metroid fans? (Just wildly guessed numbers, you get the idea.) And ... Bayonetta wasn't even available for Wii. Yeah, people can have more than one console, blabla, but it's still a narrowing down of possible customers. |

@30 Wait so Nintendo are the new publisher? That changes everything. I thought this was a case of the Publisher being Sega and decided to go exclusive but if it's Nintendo then that makes sense seeing as Nintnedo wouldn't publish a game for 360/PS3. Also I don't hate the WiiU in fact I'm hoping to break into the gaming industry (me and three other friends are forming a games company together) and I have some great ideas for what I could do with the WiiU, the combination of the touch screen and the TV Screen sounds great. Sony have a similar idea but the WiiU like with motion controllers like the Wiimote seem to be more built around this idea then the PS3/PSV are. |

Ok people you all have to think about this really Nintendo is and always will be the largest sell hardware company out of the three Sony,Microsoft.I can remember when Nintendo had more exclusive games than any other.Nintendo has been know for giving Dev's more space to create than any of the Three the only reason Nintendo has not Had support like this in the past is because they did not want to spend the money really on hardware that would match their competitors they were in a family game state of mind now they have decided to compete and this is the result I think Platinum Games will do good with Nintendo as they will have the freedom to grow and create with no interference. And as far as the Wii U goes everyone is bashing it and the system is stronger than the PS3 and the xbox Full Wii U system specs (unconfirmed) Tri Core, 3 GHz PowerPC-based 45nm CPU, very similar to the Xbox 360 chip. The CPU features 2 MB cache, 1 MB for Core 0, and 512 KB for cores 1 and 2 1.5 GB of unknown memory, to be shared between the CPU and the GPU Custom 40nm AMD GPU with 32 MB embedded eDRAM and unified shader architecture 25 GB Blu-ray based disc 8 GB internal flash memory Custom, Nintendo-made Wii U operating system that runs on a separate, ARM-based processor. Dedicated 120 MHz audio processor, 6 channel audio for console, 2 channel for controller 512 MB separate on-board flash storage for the OS only Wii U CPU The Wii U CPU is made by IBM, based on its PowerPC CPU architecture, with all new instructions and features tailored for the Wii U system. The IBM Wii U CPU is made at 45nm and is based on the POWER7 architecture, which supports from 4 to 8 cores and 2-4 MB of L3 cache, although there are versions of the CPU with as much as 32 MB of cache. Nintendo has been rumored to use a scaled down CPU with just 3 cores @ 3 GHz, in order to keep power consumption low. Wii U graphics Wii U graphics are powered by a newer generation of AMD’s ATI graphics processor (GPU). Little is known about the Wii U graphics chip, but it will be based on AMD’s recent Radeon HD design, and it will be made at 40nm. The graphics and CPU are expected to share the same memory (RAM), but will also include its own frame buffer of 32 MB. The Wii U graphics technology means that this will be the third time Nintendo works with ATI for the console GPU. The Wii U graphics processor has been in development since 2010, according to reports, and it’s based on the Radeon HD 5000 series technology. For more, check out the Wii U GPU page. Wii U RAM Wii U is rumored to include 1.5 GB of unknown type of RAM, most likely GDDR4, which will be shared by the CPU and graphics chip. The Wii U dev kits reportedly include 3 GB for developers. RAM is a crucial hardware requirement by games, and more RAM generally means the game can load more visual features such as higher resolution textures, larger game worlds, support HD, and so on. Additionally, more Wii U RAM usually means faster loading times in games. Wii U disc drive The disc drive in the Wii U will be a custom, high capacity disc design based on the Blu-ray platform. The regular sized 12cm optical discs will store 25 GB per layer, although it’s uncertain if multiple layers will be supported. However, despite the design being based on Blu-Ray and similar technologies, the Wii U will not support Blu-ray nor DVD movie playback. This is because Nintendo believes that most already have hardware to play movies, and that the Wii U is a gaming machine first and foremost. It will be able to stream movies via Netflix and other online services, though. Flash storage The Wii U will include 8 GB of internal flash storage, according to initial reports from suppliers. The flash storage will be used for the operating system, save games, apps, and player profiles. Downloadable games, via the Nintendo Network, will be stored using the 8GB of flash memory, however, the Wii U supports external USB hard drives, USB flash drives, and SD cards as well. After reading this you may think that I am Nintendo Fan boy But I am A Sony man. I think this a good turn for the big N |

@33 oh yeah i have a real strong feeling that nintendo are going to completely buy out platinum games so all of their stuff is exclusive because they already have that project p100 game announced as a wiiu exclusive and now this. I think there is a chance of nintendo buying them. either way the wiiu looks like a nice piece of kit, and even if it doesent compare to the next sony and microsoft consoles in terms of graphics and such at least it is innovative and in a time like this we really need innovation. my PC is for graphics, my consoles (especially where nintendo are concerned) are for unique experiences |

I understand where hes coming from, but I dont support him at all. I know that SEGA has a very close partnership with nintendo than other companies. Thats why this game is an exclusive to wii u. Its pretty much SEGA's fault which makes me sad since theyre my favorite company in the business. I loved bayonetta, and really looked forward to getting the sequel. The best part was when he said "Bayonetta will be a true successor to the original." this is for a system THAT DIDNT EVEN HAVE THE ORIGINAL! Youre gonna give the true sequel to a company that never knew what happened in the first game! Thats whats so dumb about this whole thing. |

@2: "They completely focused on motion and said screw graphics and storys. That is where they lost my business. I know nothing about the wii u, but if it is anything like the wii then any good game brought to them will NOT be utilized to it's full potential" Okay you clearly don't know much about Wii in general because yes graphics weren't the main focus but how was story not a main focus? With Xenoblade, The Last Story, Tales of Symphonia, etc. how can you tell me they didn't focus on story for some of their games? As for you admitting you don't know much about the Wii U, I suggest looking it up. Yes it still has Wii in it's name but the graphical power as well as how you play the Wii U will be fine with Bayonetta 2 if that's what you're so worried about. Also they will have a Pro Controller you can use if the tablet controller isn't your thing. Either way look up information before you knock on something because it makes you look like a fool. |

| He repeats multiple times that the studio doesn't want to alienate fans and he wants it to be accessible to all Bayonetta fans then says it's a WiiU exclusive, a system that hasn't been released and likely won't even outsell the vita. The thing's $300 (more than a vita) and I still can't tell whether it's meant to be a massive handheld or if it's supposed to be some nintendo DS thing where it's got a screen and you're supposed to output to your tv for the other screen. The system just seems impractical and making your game an exclusive on a system like that is just stupid. I'd rather play a Bayonetta 2 that isn't perfect but on a ps3 than have an amazing Bayonetta 2 on a system I'll never touch. |

| So you will attempt to reach more people with a new mediocre system very few people seem to care for (the exception being Zelda and Super Mario diehards) instead of releasing it on both the Xbox360 and PS3. Okay gotcha. |

@1: I don't give two shits about Bayonetta, but you summed it up perfectly. I read the article and that explanation is shit. It does not explain at all why Bayonetta 2 is exclusive. It would be a good explanation as to why Bayonetta 2 was on PS3, 360, and Wii U if it was going to be on all 3 platforms, but it isn't, and thus this excuse is poopie juice. But again, I don't give two shits about Bayonetta. I've already preordered my Wii U and could easily get Bayonetta 2, but I don't want to. I have no time for ripoffs of God of War which is already boring enough to me as it is. Especially when the only selling point of said ripoff is a "sexy" main character who isn't even all that sexy. |

@4: Interesting thoughts. If that is really what he means by his statements is that nobody else was willing to work with them to put out Bayonetta 2 except for Nintendo, then it makes perfect sense. If that's what happened, it would have been nice if it was stated clearly. And if that's not what happened, this explanation is still shit. So either way, this explanation is shit. Just plain shit or poorly worded shit, one of the two. |

“Bayonetta has fans the world over, and we would never dream of alienating them from participating in the future of Platinum Games." Future games... but just not this one, right? At least their partnership with SEGA allowed them a bit more freedom, it sounds like. That said, I can understand a series console-jumping, but this game put them on the map and established them with PS3/360 fans. I love Kamiya, P* and their titles, but I'm not going to buy an overpriced Wii with HD and a tablet just for Bayonetta 2... I'll stick with playing Bayo and VANQUISH on my PS3 again, if anything. That said, I'm still hyped for Anarchy Reigns and, the game that will show NGIII, DmC and so many more how its supposed to be done, Metal Gear Rising. I just hope that there might be a Bayo 2 port to PS3/360 someday since the Wii U isn't that much more powerful. |

| People don't get that this is a smart move on everyone's part that screws over fans of PS3 and 360 . Although I liked Bayonetta I didn't think that it needed a sequel and think about it like this, Most people buying Bayonetta 2 will definitely buy Bayonetta 1 for PS3 or 360 so all in all Sony and microsoft will benefit. And for all people hating on Nintendo sure they are shit now because of some dumb decisions but Nintendo will always be the king of videogames based on what they have accomplished. |

Bayonetta is a brand that we want to see become stronger, reaching the hands of more and more gamers This is sometimes the same kind of logic my 5 year old uses on me... Not one ounce of fact, but firmly believes it with all of her heart! Japanese CEOs crack me up. |

( ̄ _ゝ ̄) wait wait wait... i seen this befor! capcom said these words with MHtri. putting it on the Wii even though every one who plays monster hunter has a ps3, then becuase no one wanted shove out hundreds of dollars for a new counsel to play the sequel to a great game that apparently had a horrible friendliest / communication set up for the online part of tri. then turn around a couple monster latter and say "we are not going to port over or make new sequels to this game because no one bought the last one. platinum games should realy have it on the ps3... or els they will see less sales than they think they will get btw: capcom is doing the same to megaman with the ipad game. so they can say no one bought it on the ipad so we make no new megaman games now kthxbye |

@75 Well there's a good reason for it happening but it's still annoying. Take a games franchise you really like something you've been looking forward to for a while such as Dead Space, Assassin's Creed, Borderlands even the new Call Of Duty as an example (I'm not saying you like these games just hypothetical), your looking forward to buying Assassin's Creed 3 when suddenly the guys making it say that Ubisoft have dropped the game and it's now exclusive to this new console you don't even own or were planning to buy. Mindless of the reason your still going to be pissed off because to you, your part of what made that game so successful by buying into it. Some of these guys are going over the top and are over-reacting but I don't blame even one of them for being this angry. Platinum Games did an awful job of letting them down to this news and really owe it to their fans to toss them something right about now even if it's free content for the first game. |

| @78 Neither do I, it was stupid when people were doing it to Bioware and it's still stupid now. I guess some people perhaps know there's nothing they can do about it and just want to vent off steam and the rest? Well those guys have somehow made themselves believe if they scream and shout they'll get what they want since that is totally how the world works. |

| Didn't think people on here was hardcore at being fanboy's. What I read in early articles was that this game wasn't even going to come out if it wasn't for nintendo cause it was canceled. So it should be on the wii U. I'm not saying it's going to be better or stronger than ps4, but lets just see what happens before everyone claiming it's "trash" before it comes out.. The wii wasn't even as bad as people making it seem. I didn't play wii much as my ps3 because the lack of hd graphics since the resolution looks terrible on my 42in. Everyone talking about the shovelware games.. Don't buy them! Just that simple. I'm glad to see nintendo trying to get different type of gamers to like the wii u. |

| This is like Monster Hunter... being popular on Sony consoles... PS2/PSP... Gaining fame and money... Suddendly makes the exclusive leap to Nintendo consoles and fucks it up with Monster Hunter 3... OH AND NOT TO MENTION i asked for an upcoming titles list at g=Gamestop and saw the name "Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate" for WiiU... This sucks... (Side Note: I'm also pissed at Ninja Gaiden Razor's Edge... It has everything that was missing in NG3 ps3/xbox version... and It's also exclusive for WiiU) |

| You guys know that the 1st one only sold 1.3 million world wide and that's counting both the PS3 and XBOX 360...I'm sorry to say this but that is really really bad. Sega didn't want to do the 2nd one and loss money. SO they had to go else where. Nintendo...sadly...offered to pay for the game. Because of that, this will not see the light of day on any other system. You can't be made at the developers...it's not there fault no one wanted to take the risk. Nintendo is willing to take a gable on this and because of that, you will get a 2nd one. Will I get a WiiU? No. Am I upset I wont get to play this or Rayman Legends? Yes...but there really is nothing you can do. Other then getting a WiiU. |

| Whatever happened to the not so long ago: "we will never made another bayonneta game"? Nintendo is trying to get back the between 16-40 yo gamers it lost with the wii back. So they are financing any game that was popular with that audience in the past in the hopes fans of those games will have a reason to buy the WII U. I am sure some will, but not in the numbers nintendo expects. That game will either get a released on other consoles down the road, or end up being the last of the series. Did bayonnetta really sold that much? did it sold God of War numbers? I am guessing not since SEGA did not want to make a sequel. and until last year they were saying: "no more bayonetta" |

Well, if they hadn't signed with Nintendo I'd have no Bayonetta 2, as Sega didn't seem interested. With them signing with Nintendo I still won't be having Bayonetta 2. Nintendo can screw any 3rd party gane to death with their meddling, which is why I left their crap behind me ages ago, last I checked, they were still doing that. Besides, I know a lot of Wii owners, not a single on of them has bought a new game in 2 years, they pick 'em up used, rent or loan free at the libraries, which incidentally is the only incentive I could ever find for getting a Wii or WiiU, every single title available for free :D |

| I am glad they are following the Dead Space footsteps (1,830,000 sold on ps3, 1,280,000 on 360) Dead Space Extraction sold so well on the Wii (420,000 copies) that they had to give it away with Dead Space 2. I dont know why, nor will I ever understand the idiocy of some developers. Bayonetta was a great game, but not a system seller that would dupe me into buying a Wii U. |

| The sequel wasn't going to get funded if it weren't for Nintendo, so this way it at least exists. I won't buy a Wii U for this, but this and several other good games might contribute to me getting one eventually. Thing is, by the time I get a Wii U this will be a bargain bin title so they won't see much cash from me ever. |

Why do I have the sneaky suspicion those who are whining the most about Bayonetta 2 being only for the Wii U are the same people who also don't understand WHY it is only for the Wii U, and most likely the same people who still believe that the Wii U is a "step behind" even the PS3/360 and will be over-shadowed by the PS4/720 with absolutely nothing to back that up? http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/jimquisition/6331-Why-the-Wii-U-May-Have-Already-Won-Next-gen @6:11 is for you guys!
