yeah like no more heroes was a wii exclusive. nothing against the wii u but can't see a decent game like this stay exclusive for to long.Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 10:38 AM
I'll wait for a port, just like No More Heroes, House of the Dead and so on...Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 10:38 AM
What the hell, bloody good going Platinum Games you idiots, I loved the first Bayonetta so now if I want to play the sequel I have to get another console (not really a problem) to friggin play it on. I'm all for 'Exclusivity' to differentiate between platforms but they shouldn't make sequels 'Exclusive', thats just plain stupid.Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 10:45 AM
@3 NeoXenosyde I understand you. However, as a PlayStation and Final Fantasy fan, I don't mind some franchises changing platform.Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 10:50 AM
To anyone thinking this will be a temporary exclusive think again. Nintendo is the publisher which means this will stay a Nintendo exclusive no matter what, just like Mass Effect 1 stayed a Microsoft 360 exclusive. To my and many gamers sadness if you want to play Bayonetta 2 you will have to buy Wii U to play it.Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 10:51 AM
Bayonetta 2, Pikmin 3, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and Project P-100. Looks like I'm gonna have to buy a Wii U.Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 10:52 AM
Yeah, I will be passing on the Wii U... I am going to need all my $$ to get the PS4 and 720!Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 10:52 AM
This makes perfect sense. Have the sequal to a game exclusive to a console company when the original wasn't on said companies previous platform. With final fantasy, it was due to the use of cartridge on the N64 ....... i think. Don't think you could fit a four disc game on a single cartridge unless you had a stacker cartridge like the sega mega drive (genesis)Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 10:54 AM
I'm not really flush with cash, so won't be jumping at the chance to get a Wii U. @NeoXenosyde I do agree with you, I don't understand a sequel becoming exclusive to a console, rather than new franchises being made exclusive. Nintendo are doing well to corner the more mature market this time around, but I think in about a year or so time, we'll see bayonetta 2 or any other "mature" title arrive on PS3/XB360. Same happened with the Wii.Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 11:06 AM
jus my typical day, its raining titties and i still get hit on the head with a dick....Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 11:09 AM
It's being published by Nintendo so we most likely won't be seeing it on any other console.Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 11:09 AM
Another screw up on Sega's part for cancelling the game due to the restructuring. Well at least Sega can keep putting out shitty Sonic games.Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 11:09 AM
WTFThursday, September 13, 2012 @ 11:19 AM
Fuck exclusives, everyone should be able to play every game regardless of the console they useThursday, September 13, 2012 @ 11:19 AM
The worst news I have heard in a LOOONG time... I have no intention of buying a Wii U JUST to play Bayonetta so... I guess Im going to missing it, unfortunatly.Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 11:25 AM
the first game was garbage anywaysThursday, September 13, 2012 @ 11:27 AM
being published by nintendo, destroys any posibility it jumps on another console... i hate when this stuff happens...Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 11:29 AM
hahaha way too lose a shit load of sales platinum games! you cut your sales down too almost nothing BY doing this exclusively on the crappy Wii-U i dont know a single person thats even intrested in the wii-u, and sorry But 1 or 2 games isnt gunna sell a console! plus Zombi-u is only a timed exclusive so goodluck with that nintendoThursday, September 13, 2012 @ 11:29 AM
Please. Read my WHOLE comment before you bash. I did not like Bayonetta. I hate that infernal 10% trophy progression that will always be there. Don't get me wrong. The game was fluid. It looked magnificent. And she was easy on the eyes. The reason I didn't like it? The same reason I don't care for the PS Move... If anyone involved in international law saw me "playing" Bayonetta, I could be charged with some sort of "Crimes Against Humanity". I was effin' TERRIBLE at it, just like the Move. My wife would laugh at my "combos" and "counters". It's too bad. I really wanted to enjoy it. Unfortunately, whenever I would try a counter, the disc would eject itself and try to go into my garbage disposal. ;) OT. This news just boggles my mind. I get being an exclusive and THEN expanding. But, expanding and then becoming an exclusive - on a system you weren't even on? Abd like has been said, NES is publishing it. No chance of it EVER coming anywhere else. Sorry to all the real fans that will get screwed by this....Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 11:29 AM
This is a desperate move from Nintendo. I don't think that many grandma's and mothers are gonna buy it like the Wii. I'm not buying it either. Tho I do own a Wii but that is cuz I really was a Nintendo fan.Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 11:40 AM
Seriously, who gives a shit!?!? Its just 1 game. And not even an amazing one.Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 11:40 AM
So very annoyed :'(Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 11:42 AM
What happened to the whole Viewtiful Joe 3 before Bayonetta 2? :'[Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 11:45 AM
@5 ME1 is a 360 exclusive? Funny as I have it right here on Steam... OT: I see this as a good thing. If its as racy as the first it could be a sign that Nintendo is really serious about trying to get out of kiddie mode and play ball with the big boys.Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 11:48 AM
That's one way to reduces sales.. >_>Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 11:49 AM
Bayonetta was the $h!t, and deserves a multi-console release. I've also been a Nintendo fan, but hadn't owned a new one since Super, but I would buy the Wii U if more games like this become exclusivea and or more serious styled games come out for it.Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 11:49 AM
reduce*Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 12:06 PM
I wasn't a fan of the first one, but still sucks.Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 12:08 PM
Didn't really like the 1st game anyways, so no loss for me.Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 12:16 PM
This better port, I loved the first, despite the ps3 PORT being inferior to the xbox one graphically... Otherwise a big middle finger to platinum, I dont see it selling, it was good but not that big a draw come on! Also, im an ex nintendo fanboy, hence the name, so dont think ill get a damn wii u, the first wii and its gimmicks annoyed me.Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 12:21 PM
This is just a whole new level of bullshit. It's just plain stupid this franchise went from multi-platform to platform exclusive of a brand who never experienced the first title. We're not talking about a 15 or 20 year old franchise, it's from this corrent generation. They could, at least, not call it 2. Just give it a stupid subtitle.Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 12:25 PM
won't be losing my sale. Wii U was already on my list for the awesome drunken 4-player mario bros. fests. :) just an interesting change of console. Always wondered why the first one didn't get the wii treatment: it seemed like a sure bet for motion control.Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 12:43 PM
@1 : It's published by Nintendo, so it will most likely stay an exclusiveThursday, September 13, 2012 @ 01:01 PM
I must admit, i wasn't a big fan of the first game. To me, it was just another Devil May Cry clone, that was amausingly silly, but lacking. With that said, i really feel for the fans, who are disappointed by this. It's really a dicky move, considering that the fans are on PS3 and 360. But then again, maybe Nintendo was the only one willing to release this game. I feel for the fans, but i don't think Platinum was left with any other choice.Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 01:01 PM
I have absolutely no doubt that this will eventually be available for other consoles, you may have to wait a year or two, but I'm positive it's gonna happen. I've seen plenty of third party exclusives for nintendo become not so exclusive after a while. They're just creating ways to draw in buyers for the Wii U since they finally opened up about it this morning.Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 01:02 PM
I'll pass on the Wii-U and save for the inevitable next gen consoles 720/ps4. At the moment there's not enough to interest me to warrant buying one. Price is fairly high also considering it doesn't have a HDD,DVD or blu-ray drive just some flash mem and proprietary optical malarkey. Baylonetta being Wii-U only only hurts platinum games (unless Ninty gave them a heafty cheque :)) as Bayonetta wasn't a big seller even on 360/ps3 so on wii-u it will be lucky to sell 100k.Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 01:15 PM
I don't care, I am just happy they are making one.Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 01:21 PM
Surprised they did this as MAD WORLD did so well on the wii!!!!!!!!!!!!Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 01:27 PM
Gosh! Bayonetta is really a popular title, considering the amount of comments here. I'm a fan of that game too, so I'm waiting for a PS3 port next year, luckly.Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 01:30 PM
Thats what i was going to say, the only people this exclusive Bayonetta 2 will hurt is platinum games on game sales. Whats next? MGR being successful only for the second one to become a Wii U exclusive too. It's a good way to say f**k you to the fans who supported platinum games by buying the game new even tho it was a shit port on PS3.Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 01:39 PM
Damn it. This sucks. I was really hoping for a sequel on playstation. Watever. Platinum Games, jus focus on getting my Metal Gear Rising released will you?Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 01:43 PM
meh this isn't that big of a dealThursday, September 13, 2012 @ 01:44 PM
What. Really, what "genius" thought that this was a good idea? I mean, all of your install base is on the other system! Yes, the Wii U is going to sell, but why not both systems! It's not like the Wii U is all that powerful.Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 01:46 PM
Rofl, way to go. Just release the game on a console that doesnt have any Bayonetta fan base instead on the two others that have? LOGIC!Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 01:46 PM
The F!Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 01:47 PM
lol on nintendo shit console, enjoy your 1k copies SEGAThursday, September 13, 2012 @ 01:48 PM
Why, Kamiya, whyyy!? I love P* but going Wii exclusive with their next two games, after MGR, is incredibly dumb. They're a great developer, but they're the kind of developer that really needs to get their games into as many gamer hands as possible which is why I completely agree with Banacheckfps. I paid new for Bayonetta and Vanquish, loved both. And, planned on picking up (and loving, heh) Anarchy Reigns next year, if not importing. At any rate, the Wii U being no more powerful than the current gen systems is, at least, a good sign that a port to the PS3 may happen, but I'm still bummed by this choice.Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 02:13 PM
Like others have said, this is probably due to Sega restructuring and cancelling the project, which meant that P* needed to find a new publisher. Nintendo obviously signed up with the caveat that it remain an exclusive. It can understand P*'s logic, but it probably won't be the best move in terms of eventual sales. I'm also sad that I'll basically never get a chance to play it, since the original Bayonetta and Vanquish were among some of the funnest games I've had the fortune of playing. Which reminds me, I still need to Plat Vanquish... Also, as others have said, with this being published by Nintendo, the chance of an eventual port is highly unlikely, even if it was technically possible. A tragedy, really.Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 02:29 PM
@12 Hey don't put Sonic in this. It has nothing to do with this. Besides the games have been getting better anyways.Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 02:39 PM
guess im playing this game on utube and using my ps3 controller haThursday, September 13, 2012 @ 02:57 PM
Sorry, but it's going to take more than ports of third-party games like ACIII, Batman AC, and Mass Effect 3, and a LOT more than mediocre exclusives from mediocre devs like...pfft Platinum Games...to convince casuals and non-Nintendo fans to buy a Wii U. You want AAA exclusives to announce, not games from a dev that are only liked by a niche group of gamers.Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 03:00 PM
Quite possible this could see a PS3 port in a year or so, similar to how Tales of Graces f or the RE: Chronicles HD games did. Never lose hope!! ^_^Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 03:14 PM
Loved Bayonetta, but I sure won't be buying a piece of crap, catch up console for a company that is only looking for a quick buck. (I won't even lower myself to even mention their name)Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 03:23 PM
Never played the first one but still..that's bull! Good move on Nintendo's part and maybe it will make the attraction to the WII U stronger.Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 03:36 PM
Bad move... You release the first game on the PS3 and 360 and release the second one Only on the Wii U? And we're suppose to just bend over and take it? I am interested in the Wii U but I can't help but think that in about a year or so they will re-release the console with more memory which is really what is lacking in my opinion.Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 03:38 PM
Sorry for double post, forgot to add this in: Does anyone know if the Wii U will have a sort of trophy/achievement system as well?Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 03:46 PM
How many Wii games eventually came to the PS3? Relax and be patient people.Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 03:46 PM
@5: Funny to say as I recall Mass Effect to be published by EA and released on PC 6 months (which is still fairly normal) after XBox launch. @Everyone saying this will stay an exclusive: Why? Nintendo is mostly publishing their own franchises until now which can hardly be considered an indicator for a highly demanded sequel. Moneywise it would be a silly move to keep it exclusive to a platform which will most likely be frowned upon by core gamers over the time. In the end it all comes down to the actual publishing contract if the franchise is taken by Nintendo or remains with Pt, a option for porting is included and most important: if the whole deal is only considered timed. You can regain the publishing rights on your game and do whatever the world you want to do with it, as is most famously proved by Psychonauts (formerly THQ, now back at Double Fine) I think.Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 03:54 PM
Just like Resident Evil was exclu to Nintendo, we will get this game in some sort of ''gold edition'' with lot more goodies and content. I'll be patient and don't waste anymore money on Nintendo.Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 03:54 PM
Sega, making dumb moves since, errm, ever.Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 03:57 PM
wankers!!! why can't sega redeem there dignity and balls by yelling out loud and proud "HEY NINTENDO, I AIN'T GOING TO BE YOUR BITCH!!"Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 04:00 PM
@56 - Yes apparently, of some type, they are called Accomplishments, and somehow, they work in conjunction with the Miiverse.Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 04:07 PM
@58 Nope. Mass Effect was published by Microsoft. Not EA.Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 04:24 PM
Im getting a wiiu anyway this just sweetens the deal for meThursday, September 13, 2012 @ 04:37 PM
what's with the Sega comments?Sega just published the first.blame Platinum Games.Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 05:38 PM
Exclusives is what makes people buy a console, good job for Nintendo, kids need to stop hating, as for me I haven't played the first nor I will but I could see Nintendo selling a few Wii U just because of this game.Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 05:41 PM
what the fuck is wrong with these people?! So embarassing Nintendo is already doubting their sales so they need exclusives -_-Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 05:42 PM
@ 57: None that were published by Nintendo. As I recall, House of Dead Overkill was published by SEGA and No More Heroes 2 by Ubisoft. Also, knowing that Nintendo had a great relationship with Platinum Games since Madworld, I'm not surprised with Bayonetta 2 being a Wii U exclusive (temporarily? maybe...). Have you seen some of its specs? It has 2GB of Ram which only 1 GB will be used for the games. This is almost twice if not four times more than the actual console (PS3 or 360).Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 05:46 PM
Why? Why?? WHY?!!Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 06:13 PM
HAHAHA, does they think i will but a Wii-U for this. i didnt buy an XBox to play MASS EFFECT 1, so good luck with Nintendo Sega maybe someday i will play Bayonetta 2Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 06:26 PM
I'm not usually one to go mental over game announcements of this nature, but this, this right here, is fucking bullshit. I loved the first game. Sure, it was rough around the edges, and it looked a little muddy on PS3, but the tone and the combat more than made up for it. It is one of the very very few games that I continue to play occasionally after platting it. And one of the few games that makes me feel like a badass. To go from taking a good 30 tries to button mash my way through that first encounter with Jeanne in chapter 2, barely survive by the skin of my teeth, to get to a stage where I can easily beat her chapter 5 form in under 30 seconds whilst taking no damage was a wonderful wonderful feeling. But this news makes me sad. And angry. I suppose Kudos must go to Nintendo for securing this deal, but this, along with a whole bunch of 'enhanced' ports of year old titles is nowhere near enough to get me (and it sounds like an awful lot of other people here) to even consider buying this dumb console. Hell, nothing could at this stage. Even an exculsive new Time Splitters game...Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 07:17 PM
No sense guys. Bayonetta is for everyone so why make it an exclusive Wii U game???! No sense..Im really starting to hate them. And I'll make a threat! I won't buy other sega games if they do it! Ahahah! ;PThursday, September 13, 2012 @ 07:20 PM
have you ever seen a game published by microsoft or sony go to another console? no, you havent and you wont see a game published by nintendo go to sony or microsofts consoles either. plain and simple. this is a dumb move on P* part. the game sold "ok" on xbox and sony which had a way wwaayyyy bigger install base than the wii u will have possibly ever. its not going to sell that well and id be surprised if it broke the 100K mark the first year.Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 07:43 PM
it's being published by nintendo so unless they put it on multi console it will never be played outside of wii u *(Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 07:55 PM
@66 How is this Platinum Games' fault? They're just the developer, they were the ones who wanted a second game to happen. Sega didn't so they sold the IP. Nintendo picked it up, and it's now being developed exclusively for Wii U. If you want to blame anyone, blame Sega for selling the IP in the first place.Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 08:02 PM
Don't know why people are so upset. Sega cancelled the development of Bayonetta 2 and if it weren't fo Nintendo stepping in, it wouldn't even be released. As long as more P* games get released, I'm happy.Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 08:16 PM
Noooooooooooooooo!!!! Stupid WiiUThursday, September 13, 2012 @ 08:25 PM
STOP THE BLOODCLOT CRYIN!!! If u wanna play the game get a Wii U -simple.Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 09:26 PM
^Ban these Asshole Spammers Already^Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 09:29 PM
Upon further inspection i see its been done already. Disregard the double post and oh yea hallelujaThursday, September 13, 2012 @ 09:56 PM
Thats messed up companies don't give a shit about loyal customers these days I bought the game first day it came out ps3 sales were crazy in new York then they do this, nintendo only got Mario and Zelda Pokemon was up there now its off cus it dont make sense what will be left is Sony Microsoft an PC no more nintendo they cant compete. Then brawl will come to us.Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 10:02 PM
I have zero interest in the wiiU, and now, sadly, zero interest in Bayonetta 2 :(Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 10:03 PM
Not a problem for me,i was getting the wii u anyway this is a bonus for me;)Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 10:45 PM
Wow, what a huge amount of butthurt. Anyway, getting a Wii U anyway. Sucks for people that aren't, though. Still . . . if it's being published by Nintendo, that means Platinum is filled with intelligent people that keep the rights to their franchises and don't let the Publishers have it.Thursday, September 13, 2012 @ 11:31 PM
Wii U it´s for babys and the babys stills hates the the Wii UFriday, September 14, 2012 @ 01:16 AM
"Wii U it´s for babys and the babys stills hates the the Wii U" I just wanted to make sure everyone took the time to read @87's comment. I mean, wow. Anyway, you guys can say fuck the police all you want. The WiiU looks like it's gonna be alright. "It's on the WiiU? Too bad. Bayonetta now, for some reason, sucks." Except that it doesn't.Friday, September 14, 2012 @ 01:24 AM
LO FREAKING L @everyone It's one game that didn't sell to well. Kingdom hearts spanned consoles, Resident evil, mgs, etc. Calm down, this crap happens all the time! Also, if it wasn't for Nintendo, this game would not have EVER come out. This was a canceled game by Sega till Ninty came in.Friday, September 14, 2012 @ 03:33 AM
I enjoyed the 1st game, so shame it's not coming out on PS3. At least there is loads of other good games coming out on PS3 soon to help fill the gap.Friday, September 14, 2012 @ 04:13 AM
This is disappointing, if only for the fact that I rather have trophies than Wii U accomplishments. I will get a Wii U eventually, but just for those typical Nintendo exclusives. Just as for Rayman Legends, I hope this will be ported eventually, though it might be false hope.Friday, September 14, 2012 @ 04:56 AM
So, let me get this straight... - Bayonetta was released for PS3 and X360. - Bayonetta 2 is a WiiU exclusive. ...Which means that fans of the first one won't play it, while those who favor Nintendo (thus didn't get to play the first game and won't know much about it) get the sequel but NOT the first game... *slow clap* Genius move, Platinum... Good luck on those sales.Friday, September 14, 2012 @ 06:50 AM
I'm getting the wii u eventually. So once Zelda comes I may try this too. Only tried the demo fr the first one.Wednesday, September 19, 2012 @ 02:58 AM
gayy thats just stupid bayonetta was awesome its about one of a couple games i couldnt actually do on the hardist difficulty and for that i thought it was awesome that and shes not bad;) haha but this should NOT be for wii U as it'll be a wasteWednesday, September 26, 2012 @ 10:32 AM
http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/jimquisition/6331-Why-the-Wii-U-May-Have-Already-Won-Next-gen @6:11 of the video was made just for all those whiny butthurt "fans" that are just so darn upset over this news.Tuesday, October 09, 2012 @ 09:45 PM
Platinum Games... You Fucked Up, their's no other way of putting it. glad i didn't Buy Bayonetta in the past cause now i won't be in the future. ( unless used so you won't get my money )Wednesday, October 10, 2012 @ 10:11 AM
lol who cares. bayonetta was an uneven game to say the least. doubtful the 2nd will be any better.Saturday, October 13, 2012 @ 10:04 AM

Following our speculations earlier today that SEGA's mysterious Project Omega could be Bayonetta 2, our hopes have been well and truly dashed, as the Bayonetta sequel has been announced.
It's in development by Platinum Games and will be published by Nintendo, making it a Wii U exclusive title. So, if you're not planning to invest in Ninty's next-generation console and you want to play Bayonetta 2, you're out of luck.
Obviously, we're bloody livid, as we absolutely adored the first Bayonetta. Please feel free to vent your spleen in the comments. Graaargh!!
