505 Games is set to bring the blockbusting, side-scrolling sandbox of Terraria to the PlayStation Network next year. An action-adventure, Terraria places an emphasis on exploration of its huge, colourful world, which you can shape using a variety of collected materials and items. Originally released on PC back in 2011, Terraria has not only garnered universal acclaim, but it's also sold 1.6 million copies since its initial release. It's hoped that releasing the game on PSN with extra features will create more 'Terrarians' who'll get swept up in Terraria's block building experience. "I can’t say how excited I am to finally have Terraria come to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3! To see it come so far is a complete shock, especially after such humble beginnings," said Terraria creator, Andrew Spinks. "It’s always been my dream to have as many people as possible know and enjoy Terraria as much as I have, and this is another big step in that direction! It’s been awesome working with 505 Games, and I can’t wait for everyone to see the additional features that they’ve been able to bring to this new edition of the game." Terraria will be coming to the PlayStation Network in early 2013. Pricing has yet to be confirmed, but you can check out the first screenshots below. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | |
