Interesting. I hope it does well, then Dotnod can look at Sony after they have a bunch of sales and say...Remember Me? An exclusive would have been nice, but better a multi-platform release than nothing at all, glad they found a pub with Capcom, but I REALLY hope they avoid DLC. |

@#2 You made me laugh :P Here's indeed hoping for NO DLC. But hey, Capcom... You'll probably have to pay extra to unlock half of the stuff that's already on disc. So far it would have been better to stay exclusive. |

| #6 The whole point is, it isn't an exclusive anymore. Sony wanted to take it into another direction than Capcom. Now it'll be 'just' multiplatform. |

| To be honest I'm kinda glad it's not exclusive, there's been a lot of new exclusives for Sony and as of late there hasn't been that much new IPs that have been multi-format as long as Capcom don't port it over from the 360 then it'll be ok. |

| I agreed with comment #9, we already have too much exclusives and seeing how 360 and Wii has less exclusives. I think PS3 don't need anymore exclusives because we already have enough. Also PS3 already benefit from having ex-Wii and ex-360 exclusives (Mass Effect, House of the Dead: Overkill, Goldeneye). So no need for new exclusives. 3rd party exclusives are either dead or just timed. |

@11 (and possibly 9): PS3 already has too many exclusives? What in the world does that mean? I don't care about exclusives either way (why would I care if someone with an XBox gets to play a game?), but these comments are mind-boggling. |

Just that there's not that much new stuff coming in the way of multiformat it's always great to see a new IP there. Besides it's not like Capcom were the ones here to drop the project, they devoted quite a lot of time by the sounds of things into making a Sony exclusive only to have Sony drop the project, they did the same thing to Rockstar with Agent. If fact what we're saying here seems more like the result of working with Capcom rather then Sony. |

@6 I read the article, and while I'm aware, I know it WAS an exclusive back then, but I thought it was brought back as an exclusive being made my Capcom(which is pretty rare and I haven't seen them do it since Deadrising which was Xbox360 only) @15, Ok I get that Sony LOVES their Exclusives, But still they can't just keep shoving them down our throats, I wanna see some more multiplatforms releasing, People like VARIETY, We like having OPTIONS. You say "You can never have too many exclusives", Well you can never have too few multiplatformers. Reminds me of a stand up comedy I was watching the other night, Everyone always says "Theres too many white people", Well you want to know what people barely EVER say? "Theres too few black people." ( & No I wasn't using that as a racial example, So keep your panties in a bunch people), & Lol "Go play your RROD", xD Dumbass, I obviously have a ps3 since I don't know... I'm on a TROPHY website. |

The game was demoed on a PS3 (and looked great), so clearly PS3 is the lead platform so I don't think anyone needs to worry about porting. At the very last sentence of the final quote, they state that they still have a great working relationship with Sony. |

| So you went to CAPCOM?! You realized you just lost a sale based on that alone, right? The only way you could have done worse is to go with EA. I wouldn't buy your game now even if it gave free blowjobs. |

To people who said Playstation having a lot of exclusives is a good thing, it's not. That's monopolizing the game marketing. That's not good, that would give PS3 too much advantage over the 360 and Wii. We want fair and competitive marketing, not making too much exclusives. Remember what happen when the Move came out, the Wii was no longer was a hot product since the Move (and Kinect) came out, and we ended up getting a lot of Wii games getting ported to the PS3 (House of the Dead: Overkill, Dead Space: Extraction, No more Heroes, and Resident Evil chronicles) making the Wii almost no relevent (Mario, Zelda is still keeping Wii alive). Also with Ninja Gaiden 2 (renamed Sigma 2), Mass Effect got the PS3 ports, it seem a lot of people are giving reason to buy a PS3 over 360. Also why do people complain when a PS3 exclusives (Devil may Cry 4, and FF13) end up on 360, but not the opposite. BTW, there's been a lot of speculation that the Gears of War trilogy could end up getting a PS3 port (MS does not own Gears of War like Mass Effect). http://www.1up.com/news/gears-of-war-ps3-epic-love http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2011/03/04/could-gears-of-war-end-up-on-ps3.aspx?PageIndex=2 Some gamers (even PS3 owners) were worried this could happen, because it would be a big blow to MS, and 360. Some even said it would to be too unbalance for the gaming market. If Gears of War ended up on PS3, then I want Metal Gear Solid 4 on the 360 as a collateral and a good balance. |

I'm still interested in it... mainly due to the fact that its a third party studio teaming up with Capcom. Even in light of Dragon's Dogma being awesome, I'm still iffy about Capcom. That said, it looks really good and the story has me interested. |

As much as I would like to have the Gears of War trilogy on PS3, I really want them to keep it for the 360, for the main reasons that Microsoft needs that franchise for heir Xbox future and that the games are already optimized for the 360's RAM (would only be downgraded on PS3). Btw @20, it would be impossible for MGS 4 to be on 360 for the simple reason that there are many playstation references (MGS 1, MGS 3, MGA, MGS PO). I'm not saying we have too many exclusive, just that PS has enough owned studios to create its own new IPs. Think about it, we already have that Guerrilla Games new IP they have not talked about much, Sucker Punch new project (InFamous 3 or new IP?), Media Molecule 2nd new project (hopefully new IP), Naughty Dog's The Last of Us and Quantic Dream's Beyond Two Souls, the last 2 being set for 2013. PS3's catalogue has been great in the recent years. As for the untold new PS Ips, we really need to keep a few of those for the next Playstation home console. |

@22: uh, as I recalled the 360 already has Metal Gear Solid HD collection (so that means a lot of Playstation references are on 360 also): http://image.gamespotcdn.net/gamespot/images/bigboxshots/6/632696_213724_front.jpg Also, I prefer those new IPs that was going to be for PS3 to maybe move to PS4 or next generation Playstation, I'll agree with you on that. |

| @20, yea i understand what your saying but me personally would love to see gears of war on playstation, i reckon that would be cool but then again it would be really bad for microsoft. & i dont think mgs4 can be ported to the xbox as it is farrrrrrrrr to big for thrir disc, im pretty sure you need a bluraydisc. |

Forum Posts: 236 | Comment #25 by mikedo2007 Thursday, August 16, 2012 @ 07:06:29 PM | |
| @24: then for the Xbox 360 of MGS4, make it multiple disc (2 or 3 discs should be enough), it worked for FF13, MGS4 shouldn't be any different. I understand the 360 port to be shoddy but then again if Gears of War trilogy get port to the PS3 I expect the port to be shoddy also. So it's all fair both 360 MGS4 and PS3 Gears of War will have some shoddyness in console porting. |

| @20 the only real reason that this game coming out on Playstation3 exclusively would be a problem is because the game is developed by and published by a non Sony owned company. Every third party company has the decision to port to whatever platform it sees fit. If Nintendo and Microsoft would have more first and second party companies under their belts then they too could have alot of exclusives. It is Ninty and MS fault they dont have many exclusives - especially MS wanting to get the drop on Sony with third party DLC and TIMED exclusives, Sony is just showing everyone who u can still be relevant with first party exclusives and finish off with third party when MS decides they gotten a good head start with the timed BS. Its funny how exclusives dont matter and is hurting the market for everyone now in 2012 but back in 2007 it was all the rage. Heres an idea stop closing all your studios and the few remaining ones left are regulated to making Live avatars and clothing. Besides MS still has indie games & kinect |

| @27: I do agree on what you said, but I don't want Sony to completely monopolizing the gaming market and all that stuff. Beside we already have exclusives coming out this year, we really don't need anymore because our brain (including mine) would burn out. Also I kind of agree on Nintendo and MS not having their own 1st and 2nd party studios. But I prefer not to have Gears of War on PS3 because that could be the last straw for MS and 360. Ever since the Move came out and many of it's former exclusive ended up getting PS3 ports, the Wii has not quite been a hot product as it was. Ever since Mass Effect series has appear on PS3, I did read it sort of hurt the 360 because people are now looking at PS3 for all games including former 360 and Wii titles. If Gears of War end up getting ported to PS3, the 360 will not have a lot of exclusives (just Halo and Fable). The Wii is barely alive because of Mario and Zelda. So it's not quite fair and competitive when one console have many exclusives and another have little exclusive. |

| @25: You are aware that MGS 4 used the full capacity of the bluray disc (which is between 30-50 GB of space). Even with 4 discs, they will have to cut content to get it through. |
