Killzone Mercenary and Black Ops Declassified Bring Big Name FPSs to Vita

Earlier today, Sony revealed the first footage from two of its big Vita hopes, Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified and Killzone Mercenary. Here's a couple of trailers with that footage.

It’ll be interesting to see how these games pan out. Aside from some graphical niggles, there’s no reason why they shouldn’t offer a decent facsimile of AAA console shooter experiences. They're (pretty much) fully featured and make proper use of the twin sticks, after all.

Could these be the games to finally light a fire underneath the Vita's middling sales? Have a look at the trailers below and see what you think.

I hope so. As much as I'm not a big call of duty fan I preordered Declassified just to have a solid shooter on it besides Resistance.hopefully having a COD MP on a mobile platform will yield instant success.

I have never lost faith in the Vita. Sony knows this is a marathon. With time the price of the handheld console will go down and at that point there will be lots of great titles available. Many really great games already available now like Uncharted golden abyss, Wipeout 2048, Super Stardust Delta, Gravity Rush and others. New games on the horizon like COD black ops declassified, Killzone Mercenary, that new ip from Media Molecule, and Assassins Creed as well.

Well, CoD looks awful, maybe it'll pay well, but that framerate looked horrendous. KZ looks amazing. @4, wifi mp is the only announcement I've seen yet, but we'll know more soon enough.

Declassified is being developed by the same developers behind Resistance BS.
I'm sorry for the bad news :( but hopefully they learned from their last game.

killzone is my favorite FPS game so id get this when i get the vita - does anyone know if Sony is making an HD update to the original Killzone from the ps2 - they said they were going to bring it to the store but never did - so im just lost - that and a Liberation HD with trophy support would be sweet and the original KZ with the MP and alt fire set up would be great - having to find medpacks instead of hiding till your health is regenerated would be a welcomed return also -- KILL THEMM!!

I'll get one of these for sure. Killzone Mercenary looks interesting, but it looks like it might be still too streamlined against Helghast. Sure, character wise you aren't ISA, but if all you do is kill 'Ghasts, you might as well be ISA. I'd like to see them branch it out; like work for both sides, and or even work for a third and unknown party leaving both ISA and Ghasts hostiles!

Hey, I can dream.

Declassified looks like the Vita version of Black Ops 1. I really thought it would be of Black Oos 2, but whatever. Hopefully they can get zombies in there. That would be an interesting experience on the Vita.

Killzone Mercenary is a deff buy for me. Probably not day one though as the stores here blow when it comes to game releases.
