Media Molecule, the studio that created LittleBigPlanet, has just announced its new game on stage at Sony’s Gamescom presser.
The game is called Tearaway and it’s a PlayStation Vita title with the studio’s typically creative approach.
You play as Iota, a messenger made out of paper. Indeed, pretty much the whole game is made out of paper in what looks like a brilliantly inventive papercraft platformer with a number of fun customisation options.
There’s some cool functionality too, that only Vita is capable of. You can touch the rear screen to change the environment and smash enemies, in a similar-ish way to LittleDeviants. You can also paint areas of the world, using pictures taken with the Vita’s camera. Plus, you can even shout into your handheld to make Iota do likewise. It looks pretty cool.
Chuck in some Augmented Reality functionality and Tearaway looks like being a wonderfully exciting title. Keep an eye out for more on this one soon.
