Report: Thief 4 Slips to Next-Generation Consoles

Thief 4 will now launch as a PlayStation 4 and Xbox 720 (or whatever it'll be called) title, following a protracted spell in development for the current generation of consoles.

That’s according to the latest reports, which suggest that the game will hit towards the end of next year alongside next-gen hardware.

Thief 4 was announced in May 2009, but it has been as illusive as its sneaky protagonist ever since. Dribs and drabs of information has dripped through, but nothing official.

Eidos Montreal are in charge of development. The super-studio currently has separate teams working on Deus Ex and Thief, plus a playtest team and a quality assurance team.

@1: Well, no surprise. For pretty much all we had until now is the title logo.
People get used to the annual releases which are only announced serveral months before release, I think ;)

This is only a rumor, just read the article on ign.com. Way to spread this piece of speculation...

You know what would be amazing? If the keep it 100% stealth. No team multiplayer, no scripted enemy alerts. You know, an actual stealth game that rewards you for having the skill to make it through undetected. They're becoming rare these days.

I love thief but anything Eidos touches is crap.....they always have games with good stories but gameplay is terrible.

@11 WOOOAAAHHH!! Watch what you're saying there, sunshine... Remember Legacy of Kain? That was awesome (apart from Blood Omen 2) and that was Eidos, Deus Ex is Eidos, also awesome, not forgetting the amazing Hitman franchise and all previous Thief games!
