SSX's update 1.02 has gone live today, bumping the game up to version 3.0 with two new game modes that include new Global Events under the banner of '3-2-1 GO!' on the world map, in which you can compete with up to five riders in Trick It and Race It heats.
You can set the heat timer countdown with the winner being the first to the finish with DNF's being dealt to anyone failing to cross the finish line, and set the difficulty level to Hyper, Standard or Relaxed. You can also access the new Freeride mode on the Explore globe, by simply selecting the drop and hitting the 'Freeride' callout button.
You can head into Freeride and as the name suggests, simply explore routes at your leisure without any restrictions. There's also a range of fixes and improvements to SSX as part of the 1.02 patch, all of which you can read in the full list of patch notes on the official PlayStation Forums, where you'll also find more details on the new modes.
