"we took the hard decision to favour the final game content instead of doing a beta and we believe it will be favourable in the end." That's not a hard decision, it's a stupid, money-orientated one. IDC whether I get a sneak preview of MP through a beta, but I DO care that I'm being flogged a game which hasn't been thoroughly tested for exploits. Alpha testing never shows the most damaging of exploits because it uses adults who are playing properly, as soon as the average 12-year-old who will screw his own sister for extra XP gets online we'll be seeing glitch after glitch and title update after title update as the patches fly in... patches which will invariably glitch trophies like they did in AC:R. On your head be it Ubi, a beta may take time and money but constantly patching a game for bugs which could have been found prior to release costs money too and also pisses your fans off. |

| @2: Because it's not like they have an own QA and Closed Beta Tests are a new thing. |

| @3 Touche, but in your rush to display your wit you've missed my point, i.e. forgoing testing using "real" users is a bad decision. Closed betas suffer the same constraints as alphas, the testers are selected and conform to the rules set by the studio; they do not exhibit the behaviours of those who will be buying the finished product. COD games never get open betas which is why it takes the devs months to catch up with all the exploits, glitches and balancing issues that are found mere hours after release by real users. |

| This makes up for the what MS did to us PS3 owners with the Dawnguard DLC. Now we get AC III exclusive DLC. Have that MS!!! PS3 FTW! :) |

| It makes me feel so warm inside when PS3 actually gets exclusive content, considering xbox usually are the ones to get stuff like that since they are greedy. |

No MP Beta? Meh. Loving the fact that they're using the time for the actual game rather than a beta. As for the additional PS3 content, I pretty much expected it. I had AC 1 and 2 on Xbox 360, but thanks to Brotherhood's Copernicus missions (and AC2's PS3/PSP connectivity), I traded the 360 versions in for the PS3 versions and I'm loving it. It's funny, as much as I hate console-exclusive content, there is one thing Sony does better and I actually enojy it and laugh at Microsoft for their stupidity. Microsoft have temporary exclusive DLC (e.g. a month in advance), but Sony have permanent exclusive DLC. |

@7: Open Beta just means more people to test and naturally thousands of eyes see more than a dozen. QA testers normally do good work in revealing glitches and bugs by thinking outside the box, but of course nothing can match the twisted minds of some hardcore exploiters. But ultimately it's up to the studio to fix the reported bugs pre-release, day-one-patch, future-patch or - as it sadly happens - never, because it isn't worth their time, players has to go through to much hassle to do it (oh how they underestimate our patience and will ;) ) or they just can't figure out how to fix it in a time and money appropriate manner. The only reasons to do an open beta - besides PR - is to gather empirical data fast (e.g. for balancing), compatibility testing for more hardware (for PC) and stress test. You may feel like you have contributed to the overall experience to the game, but most of your submissions are already known issues. |

| People just choose to pick to bitch about day one DLC only because Capcom is known to be a major cunt. Day one DLC is normally a blessing, so now all I see in most comments is, "Waaah, DLC that I have the option to purchase and don't have to wait months for is already readily available if I feel I enjoy the game enough to get it, waaaaah"... |

| Are they ally going to mess up the box art cover with misplaced text? Really? Gosh, I rather have no extra content if they are going to mess up the box art. Sorry, I just really like my box art. |

@14 Yeah I know what you mean, Assassin's Creed II had the best box art because there wasn't any extra unnecessary text in the way, they could easily just put this on the BACK of the box... or do what Brotherhood did and have it in the bottom corner, it still stuck out like a sore thumb, but that was because it was bright red... Oh well though, we shouldn't complain, exclusive content is always great :D |

| Honestly, I'll take an hour extra of story content over a MP beta any day. While AC's MP component is fun, the story will always be the main reason I continue to play AC games. |

| For those above, if you actually read more stuff about the game, it was in developement for a long long time. i read that it was already past all the testing and has been tweaked and refined for almost the past year or so. so looking at all that there may not be as many bugs as you think just because of no beta means absolutely nothing!! |

| I guess that answers my question about the AC III mp beta then. I'm fine with that. Hopefully there won't be any game-breaking bugs come release. The hour long PS3-exlcusive DLC has made me pre-order it now. |
