Doom 3 Trailer Shows The Lost Mission, Doom 4 “Done When it’s Done”

Here’s a trailer for id Software’s Doom 3 BFG Edition, fresh from QuakeCon 2012.

Doom 3 BFG Edition is a repackaged and remastered version on the game with re-mastered graphics, support for 3D and head-mounted displays, 5.1 surround sound, and improved rendering and lighting. In addition to this you’ll also get a new checkpoint save system and an armour-mounted flashlight.

The trailer focuses on The Lost Mission aspect of the game, which brings new, never-before-seen content in the form of seven single-player missions. The stuffed package also includes the Resurrection of Evil expansion. They’ve also chucked Doom and Doom 2 for the budget price of £29.99 / €39.99. It's out on on 19th October in Europe.

Meanwhile, QuakeCon has also bought news of Doom 4. Kinda.

Speaking during his annual Quakecon keynote, John Carmack said that the majority of id Software’s manpower and resources is focused on DOOM 4. They’ve put aside the company’s mobile division to focus purely on AAA development.

Despite this, however, there’s still no timeframe for the game. Carmack said it “will be done when it’s done.”

	As I never played Doom 3 back in the day I'll definitely be getting this. Although I'm still curious as to how they're gonna make Doom 1 and 2 work on a widescreen HD TV...

	i'm more excited about this game than the call of duty black ops 2. all my memories of playing doom 1 on the playstation via a link cable and they are giving doom 1 and 2 with the game SWEET.

	@1- they did wolfenstein3d on ps3, so i´m sure they will get doom 1 and 2 to work

	Looking forward to this, never played DOOM 3. So this is gunna be quite fun, just a question to anyone who has played this before; was there any multi-player? Because i really hope there isn't, hate multi-player and i would like to walk away after finishing it knowing that it was a good game after all the praise i hear ^^

	I can't wait for this. I thought doom 3 was a awesome game. When I first played it, I couldn't play for more than 30 minutes at a time without my heart wanting to beat out of my chest

	@2 I played through Doom 1 recently and hands down I had more fun and enjoyment with that than any new FPS I've played in years, especially Call of Duty. @3 I have no doubt they'll manage it, I'm just curious as to how, given the low-res graphics. I never saw Wolfenstein 3D, so I can't comment.

	@4 There was multiplayer, but I never played the multiplayer part and I have no idea if it's incorporated into this edition. But why do you care so much? If it is in this version, just don't play the multiplayer, job done. Game was a good horror FPS, it wasn't any less good just because there was a bit of multiplayer for the people who like Deathmatches. It's not really much like the original Dooms until the last bit of the game where it gets less "scary tension" and more "action run around blast hellspawn in the face", but it's still a good game.

	Really looking forward to this as my PC back in the day wasn't powerful enough to play this game properly... Although I gotta say it does look quite dated...

	so this doom 3 BFG edition does not include the first 2 dooms? Its not like the other HD releases that include a collection of games? or am I wrong? Just wondering

	Always loved the "DOOM" series, still play ALL of them from time to time, gonna make a excepton & get this day "one". Going back to HELL while "Earning" trophies. :-)

	Wrong. They will not have trophies, this was stated a while back. Doom 1 and 2 are being thrown in as extra. Doom 3 will have a full trophy list with a platinum. The two previous games are just an added feature....think of Metal Gear Solid 3...that included the original MG1 and 2.

	It looks like the lost missions make up for the lack of Hell in the original game. This should make the journey from the Delta portal to the cube boss much, much more interesting.
