Activision will soon be wrapping up the DLC for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, with the publisher today revealing details on the final two collections of content, which also add the new Chaos Mode to Spec Ops multiplayer. The 'Decommission' and 'Offshore' maps and 'Vertigo' Spec Ops mission from Collection #4 will be heading to Elite subs on PS3 on August 16th before the Content Collections drop for non-Elite folks.

Modern Warfare 3 Collection #3: Chaos will be coming to all non-Elite members on PS3 presumably sometime in September since the Xbox 360 release is scheduled for August 9th. It adds the aforementioned Chaos Mode, which tasks you with surviving against increasingly taxing waves of enemies while scoring multipliers by chaining together kills and collecting power-ups. You'll be able to play Chaos Mode on fan-favourite multiplayer maps 'Resistance', 'Village', 'Underground' and 'Dome'.

The so-called 'Chaos Pack' will also include three new Face Off maps - 'Vortex', 'U-Turn' and 'Intersection' - and four new Spec Ops missions, namely 'Vertigo', 'Arctic Recon', 'Light 'Em Up' and 'Special Delivery'.

MW3 Collection #4: Final Assault will then be the final DLC pack for Modern Warfare 3 arriving on September 6th for Xbox 360, which means it'll likely suface on PS3 in October. It'll feature five new multiplayer maps, including an abandoned mining town called 'Gulch', a network of "deadly" oilrigs called 'Offshore', a rusting labyrinth of ocean liners called 'Decommission' (pictured), a war-torn New Orleans entitled 'Parish' and a beach setting on the Jersey shoreline sets the scene for the 'Boardwalk' map.

Both MW3 Collections #3 and #4 will cost $15 apiece, with each of the maps, Spec Ops missions and new Chaos Mode to be made available to Elite subscribers separately prior to the release of each Content Collection, as per the Decommission and Offshore maps and Spec Ops Vertigo mission coming to PS3 in two weeks' time.

@1 What a tool... that's worse than saying "FIRST!" It seems like they're unloading a TON of content towards the end of the year. It all sounds pretty cool.

Hmm from the looks of that last map pack, it looks like trophy people only need to spend $15 more in order to get a full 100% seeing as all the remaining Spec Ops stuff is coming with the 3rd map pack. Unless they pull some sort of survival trophies to do with the MP maps (or even worse, actual online trophies pertaining to those maps) I don't see myself getting the last map pack. I hate to be one of those people, but I seriously just want to get MW3 dove and the move on to other games that I want to do before BO2 comes out (such as Borderlands 2 and AC3 as far as PS3 games go).

Activision milking this dry before black ops 2. It's like ten pounds for three maps, ohh and a mode that sounds awfully similar to survival. Pfft mainstream!!!

Well I guess they proved me wrong, I figured it wouldn't be until after BO2 came out before the last spot of dlc for MW3 would be out. I just might have to continue my elite service for bo2, but not sure yet.

Maybe Call of Duty should stop doing just "Map Packs", and start doing expansions. Like with BF3, all of the DLCs so far have included new weapons, vehicles, game modes (CQ), and maps as well. At least with Black Ops they gave you 4 maps and new Zombies, which always had new guns, as well as easter eggs to solve!

Waited patiently since this game came out originally. So, where's the GotY version, Activision? Looks like more waiting to come :)

@14
There has never been a GOTY Edition CoD title. So the chances of that happening are slim to none. I mean after all it took about two years for the "Ultimate Edition" of BO to come out only for download on the PS Store.
