If you haven't played Telltale Games' The Walking Dead yet, you should be ashamed of yourself. However, you can rectify this terrible oversight by grabbing the first two episodes for free using your PlayStation Plus membership, as part of the Instant Games Collection.

Both episodes will be added to PS Plus members' Instant Games Collection from August 7th, while tomorrow sees the beginning of the PSN Play promotion with The Expendables 2, which is 20% off for PlayStation Plus members. You can also pre-order next week's PSN Play title, Sound Shapes this week.

August 7th meanwhile will also see pre-orders commencing for Papo & Yo. Don't forget to grab The Walking Dead episodes 1 and 2 though! You can thank us later.

July 31st PlayStation Plus Update

The Expendables 2 Video game

20% off for PlayStation Plus Members (PSN Price: $14.99, PS+ Price: $11.99)

Featuring vehicular combat, four-player co-op story and challenge modes, and a wealth stages set in exotic locales, The Expendables 2 Videogame is a fantastic experience for gamers that dig hardcore shoot em up action.

I'm starting to dislike this instant collection. I liked getting my psn game, ps classic, two minis, and the occasional free game half way through the month.

actually i bought it when it was release from the US store the US store is 50 % cheaper with season pass than the EU store so i dont think people in US should complain .. we pay 40 dollars for a Season Pass in EU store so 20 dollars is NOTHING .. its same price as 10 packs of cigarettes in EU

This is stupid because most people bought season pass. It better count as only one game when they rotate. I am a supposrter of Plus but this is a bad decision in my opinion.

To everyone complaining about PS plus, how about you analyze your spending habits or better yet stop buying games day one! The Ps store is known for giving away the TellTale or bundle games away for free. If you like a game buy it, but don't complain once it's discounted. I've been shafted plenty of times buying games, but for them to only be discounted right after my purchases! Not until i got smart, did the shafting feel less irritable lmao. Now i just sit back and wait... Patience is virtue!

Back to the Future = Free
Sam & Max = Free
Tales of Monkey Islands = Free
Jurassic Park = Discounted tremendously
Mysteries of Little Riddle = Discounted tremendously

*See the pattern here

Remember that plus members pay rent (nothing is for free 50 USD for year) and all the games are usefull while you are a plus member (365 days) then you will have to pay another rent.

And you will have discounts, all that shopping is permanent.

Is not stupid if you are a plus member, it´s marketing.

I allready bought House of the dead then store had a price reduction 65%.
I allready by mercenaries then it was for free.
I allready Buy NBA then store had a price reduction 50%.

At the end i become a plus member and recovered muy 50USD by discounts and free games by instant collection. (Warhammer, Ratchet & Clank, Tomb Raider, Jut cause 2, Infamous 2, etc)

Exactly -- Just because ppl go out and by it from day one, its there own fault and as #17 stated telltale have been free most of the times.

I bought TWD from US store in stead of EU store because it was half price as the EU store was, but i bought it because i also wanted the theme. Or else was my plan not to buy it before all episodes was released as i usually did .. also because it would probaly be free.

And still as i say and other say .. DONT BUY GAMES FROM PS Store if you are Plus Member - Save your money for a rainy day. Use them on you girlfriend or something else.

i'm with my man Texas on this one. we had a video chat earlier this year talkin about bout how people complain how games they bought on day one become free later on. if people are dumb enough to pay 8 to 12 pounds on the day a game comes out then ya'll deserve to be ripped off. from day one of being on the network i've never bought anything unless it's discounted. i'll never buy a game above £3.99 unless it has a plat then it is worth slighty more. there are more than enough retail games to play as it is, so why people pay such ridiculous prices for games that are obviously gonna be cheaper in the future is beyond me. and the fact that we now we get so many for free is testament to mine and others quotes. i haven't bought a PSN game or DLC in the last 3 weeks cos the sales in the UK special section have sucked. be smart, save your cash, wait for the sale or get em for free then you won't feel so pissed off...

FFS people, can we please go one PS Plus article without the childish whining? I swear some people on this site have the mentality of a 10 year old.

Plus is a great deal, and if you are too hard-headed to see it, that's your loss, but stay the hell off of the comments thread until your common sense shows up.

@25, I agree 100%.

For those who payed on release, you payed the regular price because you wanted it sooner. There's nothing wrong with that. However, for those of us who are just patient or didn't have the money, we get these discounts and free things cause we waited. lolz I say "we" but I'm not a PS Plus member XD but I'm sure it still applies.

@25

No one "deserves" to get ripped off if they legally obtained a game that the developer is selling for the consumer's own morale. However, I do understand the majority of points that were made here. I should have been smarter about this. I was just surprised that they put this game on sale or "free" as quick as they did..while we're not even done with all of the episodes. I thought for sure the sale would have come AFTER all the releases, not during. That's why I'm pissed. It's all good. Lesson learned!

Meanwhile on Xbox LIVE..... I sometimes doubt my purchase of PSN Plus (because I play the Xbox a lot more than the PS3), but with the amount of content I have got for being a premium member, it has paid for itself.

Now it's just a matter of getting The Walking Dead for free on the EU store.

I'm wondering if this is a red herring to draw attention away from Telltale Games' inability to stick to their timeline of "one episode per month". Episode 1 came out in April. Episode 2 didn't come out till June. Episode 3... August? September?

Either that or once the game moved one million copies, Sony figured it was a safe bet to give away and make players happy. I bought the season pass and don't regret it. TWD is a great game to play and re-play. Hopefully this increases the number of fans and leads to a continuation of the series.

Well PSN always had a leg up on XBLA when it comes to deals. Always! Steam on the other hand is the one to be on par with!

XBLA really needs to work on their DoTW and not recycle the same games over again.

@53, the instant game collection cycles at twice per month, so the next update we will learn about the other games getting added. It should be 3 new ones to phase out 3 of the older ones. I for one am happy I've put off buying these episodes. Maybe we'll get the rest for free eventually as well.

Come on people. You don't own any of the content when you don't buy it as a PS+ member. You only get to keep it, if you pay for it. So for the people that are sad/complaining about PS+ people getting it "free", they are not getting it free. They are getting it "rent to own". Playstation network is probably not going to give the rest. I think this might be a bait thing to reel you into buying the rest of the episodes.
