I actually had to check and see if it was April Fools day today even though we are in July LOL the last time it was announced along with a patch for COD4 it was April Fools. Its just a shame that Metal Gear Online has come to an end I think the trophies would have been interesting for that side of it.
@1 Maybe its the excitement or something but I cant agree with you on "The best game ever. Period" since there isnt much actual game to play its more of a movie where you question your involvement, you cant walk 5 steps without having to watch another long winded video seq, I agree with you that what you do play is pretty amazing gameplay but still think MGS1 and MGS3 were the best games of the series. |

I'm planning to do an entire mgs series run, this is for sure a great excuse to finally plough into it...with incentive!

I actually kept a save file right at the end of the game when I got my Big Boss ranking. So if getting Big Boss is a trophy, all I will have to do is load up the save and skip the ending scenematic, so it might be the first trophy I get for it :D |

@ #43 You'll likely have to start a new save since most games that have trophy support added aren't retroactive. I doubt they'll allow you to just load up a save like that.
Personally I'm not sure I'm happy about this. Took me 2 years to get all the emblems and I'm not sure I'd want to do it again. Of course I wasn't happy about the MGSHD collection for the same reasons so I'll likely be going for the plat on it, and I'll get it considering I've done it all before. |

If you say you've plat'd the HD collection then you should have no problem going for the Big Boss Emblem. It was far easier then MGS2's VR's. I pulled it off on my first attempt, and it was my first attempt at going for the highest rank on an MGS game as it was. I platinumed the HD collection as well and found MGS2 to be harder. |

With the MGS HD Collection bringing trophies to the earlier games, it did feel strange that 4 still didn't have them.
Really glad these are coming, as this should motivate me to finally play the darn game. And yes, I know it's terrible that trophies provide me actual motivation. |

| I'm glad trophies are being patched but I won't be happy if there's trophies for getting Big Boss rank and especially get all emblem titles. I hope they compensate for the promise we was given 2 years ago and give us a shit load of trophies, and by which I mean not just a load of bronzes. MGS4 was the reason I got a PS3 and am looking forward to doing it again! |

It makes me sad to see so many people comment how they never played this simply because it didn't have trophies. Trophies are fun but missing out on perhaps the greatest game ever made for the PS3 because of a lack of them is silly.
Also people saying "Next they need to do a trophy support patch for ". Don't hold your breath. They aren't going to devote time and resources to making a trophy patch for a game that is probably a) not readily available or b) selling for at most 20$ in a store.
Sure it would be nice to see trophies for Oblivion, DMC4, Eternal Sonata etc...but it won't happen. MGS4 is the one people have been begging for. Other games are all but forgotten.
Also, people celebrate now...but they will complain when the trophy list is released. I am predicting this will be one of the hardest platinums to get. Not time consuming with artificial difficulty like Star Ocean...but legitimately hard. |

| I wouldn't get too excited. noone from konami verified this and kotaku reported konamireps didn't know anything about it.more assumption that a rerelesse will have trophy support. I recall when oblivion had a rerelesse last year people thought it would have trophies too. |

CynicalGamer, well you might have point but lots of gamers and myself had played this game when it is came out in 2008 and we loved this but lots and myself want this game have trophies too. No need to be sad but I do understand your point of views but no need sad. Game is already great and now with trophies to made more exciting to return this game again to earns trophies. :)

I completed this several times as well. With trophies, it means i have to hunt down my Cousin, who 'borrowed' this a couple of years ago, and never returned it!, or just buy a used copy.
This should've had trophies to begin with.
I just hope it's not a ridiculous Plat., like MGS 2 HD was. |
