Mass Effect 3: Leviathan Story DLC Confirmed

Voice actor Anthony Skordi has confirmed that the rumoured Mass Effect 3: Leviathan DLC found nestling among the code of the recently released Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut is indeed real, and will be the first dose of single-player story-based content for the game, following several free multiplayer add-on packs, including the upcoming Earth pack, due to release on July 17th.

SPOILERS AHEAD, so if you haven't played or finished Mass Effect 3 yet, or indeed you want to go into the DLC cold, look away now. Skordi will apparently voice the titular Reaper named Leviathan, with a story set prior to the ending of the game. One for the second Insanity playthrough perhaps? Leviathan is apparently a Reaper traitor, separated from his own kind after killing one of them.

Shepard runs into Leviathan during a mission to rescue a scientist named Ann Brynson, who's being held at a Reaper-indoctrinated mining facility controlled by the errant Reaper. It's thought that the Leviathan DLC will shed more light on the Reapers and their origins, while offering Leviathan himself as a potential War Asset or an ally.

Yet to be officially announced, it's entirely possible that a proper reveal for Mass Effect 3: Leviathan will be coming to Comic-Con in San Diego later this week alongside the ME3: Earth multiplayer pack, with more details hopefully forthcoming. Watch this space.

Nice. Looking forward to this. I can add it to my 'Awaited DLC' list alongside Dawnguard and Artorias of the Abyss. :)

Actually this the whole reason why I have not done my insanity run.

But I'm going to wait until ALL of the DLC comes out. ME3 will feel even more fresher. :)

I platinum-ed M.E2 finally about 2 months ago and yet I have read reviews and I have even played a little of M.E 3 I haven't interested in buying it and not because of the flak it's received I just don't think the series went how I was hoping.

Far far more placed to visit more interaction with people and the worlds etc I found ME 2 very tedious at times and I probably will expect the same in 3 so I haven't been bothered to buy it.

Oh goodie, a whole DLC devoted to some random Reaper when they couldn't bother to give Harbinger a single line in the main game...

Just hope it's not the sort of DLC that comes across as content cut from the main game. The Javik DLC should have been free for everyone, not just the few who got codes in their pre-orders. His story was hugely important to the main story. Not to mention it was available at launch which always stinks of money grabbing.

@9 correction, the code was only free to the people who got the collector's edition. also since it was "hugely important" as you say, wouldnt it make sense for it to be day 1 dlc? starting the game without it would be like starting pokemon without your starter.

@10 the fact that it was "Hugely Important" meant it shouldn't ever have been removed from the disk in the first place to then be re-sold as DLC.

You were getting a god-damn Prothean, the last of the mysterious race that has been a key part in the lore over the previous two games. Added to the fact that it was content that was finished BEFORE release, and then cut to be sold as extra with a 9.99 price tag, and you've got the sickly scent of monetising a game as much as possible.

And before you say "ahh, the content wasn't cut content", I suggest you check youtube - PC gamers found that by editing a single line of coding, without any DLC present, Javik was available for use, though his unlock mission and some of his dialog is not present.

Blatent Exploitation.
