You know when Batman climbs to the top of a tower and just stands there with his cape flapping around looking all cool and stuff? That's exactly what LEGO Batman 2 is doing right now with the UK charts. The caped crusader is number one again, despite strong competition from a host of new releases.

Indeed, this week DC triumphs over Marvel in the battle of the video game super heroes. Despite the buzz surrounding the new film, The Amazing Spider-Man could only manage to swing into second place. Perhaps more surprisingly, both of those games and London 2012: The Official Video Game, beat out Spec Ops: The Line, despite military shooters traditionally performing strongly. Perhaps the subversive shooter is a grower.

Elsewhere, Mass Effect 3 rockets up the chart from 23rd to 16th, no doubt thanks to the release of the Extended Cut. Going the other way is Modern Warfare 3. Everyone in the world must have bought it now as the shooter looks to be slipping out of the chart, after a million years bothering the top 20.
