Journey Collector's Edition Confirmed and Detailed, No Release Planned for Europe

Thatgamecompany has officially confirmed Journey Collector's Edition, a package that brings together their three PSN titles; fl0w, Flower and Journey.

Alongside the three games, which come on a Blu-Ray disc, the Collector’s Edition also arrives with some interesting bonus content and three exclusive mini-games.

"We are particularly excited about the Creator Commentary play-throughs of all three games," said the studio. "We get to share with players insights about flOw, Flower, and Journey straight from the minds of the designers, artists, engineers and composers who worked together to make these games so special."

The mini-games were created during an internal Game Jam and were built from start to finish within 24 hours. They are Gravediggers, Duke War!! and Nostril Shot.

"We share these mini-games as a "thank you" to our players for supporting us over the years. In case the names didn't already give it away, these mini-games showcase thatgamecompany's lighter side with madcap competitive multiplayer action. We hope you sincerely enjoy their silliness as much as we have," said the studio.

Here’s the full list of Journey Collector's Edition content:

  • 30-minute behind-the-scenes documentary about the making of Journey
  • Creator Commentary play-throughs of all three games
  • Three exclusive mini-games from thatgamecompany
  • Concept art and screenshot galleries for all three games
  • Original soundtracks for all three games
  • PS3 dynamic themes and wallpapers
  • PSN avatars including 8 exclusive new Journey avatars never released before
  • Official game trailers and developer diary videos
  • Reversible cover art

Journey Collector’s Edition hits North America on August 28th for $29.99. That’s the good news. The bad news is that “There is currently no European release scheduled for the #JourneyPS3 Collector’s Edition.” So says the studio’s Twitter feed. Boo.

Boo indeed :/ But as long as it comes here eventually i'll be happy. I have bigger games to look forward to but would like to play these 3. Heard a lot of good things about them :)

As someone who already owns Journey and Flow, thanks; but no thanks. I've got better things to save for. =)

Well I don't have either of these games, so this is a win for me. I just hate that EU gamers keep getting the shaft end of things.

This is why I love my PS3.
It don't come out in Europe, there are around 5 million people on Ebay and the like that'll import it for a reasonable price and it'll just work!

In other news.
AWESOME!

Been putting off picking these up. So a disc based purchase for all 3 would be perfect.

Well, the package itself looks pretty nice, but since I've already spent $10 on Flower, I wouldn't even consider getting this until a price drop.

Might have to consider picking this up. I keep meaning to buy all 3 of these games on PSN but always get pulled away by other gaming habits. The bonuses in this version make it very tempting though.

Shitty that there is no release date for Europe. I remember importing Demon's Souls for almost £50 and a few weeks later they announced a UK release so this time I'm going to hold off.

Still nice, but I wish the concept art was an actual physical book.

#16 i did the exact same thing, but the game was so good i just didn't give a shit :)

I already have all 3 of these so i won't be getting this, but to those that haven't played any of them it's well worth it, Flower & Flow are pretty relaxing and fun but if played as it should be Journey is an experience more than a game, definitely my favorite of the 3 by far

Hopefully it makes its way to the U.K eventually..Would likely make a better rental than a purchase though..

Sometimes I think I better wait before I buy something, cause there'll be always a "better" version someday ...
