| Even though I love the idea of a new Metal Gear Solid I feel like snakes story ended in a great way. It seems like theyre starting to milk the series too much now. I say let Solid Snake rest, hes earned it. Alot of people might disagree with this too but I think its time for some new blood in the Metal Gear series. Revengeance doesnt count. |

| I'm probably in a minority here but I'm sick of Kojima. Again and again he tells us he's ending the Metal Gear series and then he just pulls out another. MGS4 managed to wrap up everything in a nice neat little package, why couldn't they just leave it at that? As much as I enjoyed Peace Walker it only further confused the series plotline for me. And as for Rising Revengeance I was open to the idea of it when it was set between 2 and 4 where it might could have better explained the setup to 4 but now that it's after 4 I'm really having a hard time picturing it. I love Metal Gear but I don't like seeing it being milked like this. Kojima says there's no innovation in videogames any more, so why doesn't he go innovate instead of producing sequels upon sequels upon prequels of sequels? |

@6 He been teasing his fans already there been loads about MGS5 in one of my mags months back. I was happy back then when i read things in my mag about MGS5, but now Hideo Kojima has confirmed it i'm even more happy. As Platinum Games are the dev's for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance i'll pick this up, as they know how to make proper Hack 'N' Slash games (combos and not button mashing). |

@15, I tend to agree with you but the only difference is and this may or may not matter is they dont really "milk" it in the conventional sense (a la COD, Madden) where they just pound you over the head year after year after year, lets be honest, this is Hideo we are talking about here, he says they will be more snake, I say we will be LUCKY to have this by 2015, doubt it even makes this generation? Kojima pro will do the exact same thing they did with 4, make it the first 'big" game on the new consoles... My point is by that time, I would probably be ok revisting the story again assuming its set in the proper timeframe somewhere, this Rising BShit of being AFTER 4 sucks! |

| @14 How dare you :|. I can actually see where you're coming from, but I'd much rather continue the franchise as Snake then as Raiden. I'm a little sketchy on Metal Gear Rising but a new installment with Snake, and hopefully Kojima behind it, will keep the franchise from drying up. It's best to leave the franchise on a high note I suppose though rather then have it limp off into the sunset with a whole bunch of stock games that don't truly justify the series. |

I don't think Metal Gear Solid 1 needs a remake! Metal Gear was and still is a perfect example of Hideo Kojima's genius. To make a game that had a story as deep as MGS during the PS1 era was almost unheard of, not to mention the excellent gameplay. I don't believe remaking that game in today's generation would enhance it enough to be worth it. The graphics, controls and voice acting would be enhanced, but not the story. For MGS to be remade, and still be successful it would need to adopt MGS4's control system (because nobody in this age would play a NEW release if it controlled like MGS1) and I don't think it would really suit the level design or feel of the game. Besides, it already got remade on the GameCube. |

Love MGS, but it could stand to take a few lessons from Deus Ex as a whole and Human Revolution specifically. I said way back when I played it last year that DX:HR felt like what MGS4 should have been. I don't like the idea of Snake returning, though. One of the best characters in gaming, mind you, but his story is done... let him go, Kojima. |

For those of you who are worried, that story wise, this will be set after MGS4, then don't worry. MGS5 has already been talked about like 7 months ago. It will be a prequel set after Peace Walker and before the original Metal Gear for the MSX, NES (whatever). It will star Big Boss as the main Protagonist and will also feature a very young Solid Snake along with Gray Fox, and possibly (though I'm not willing to bet on it), an appearance from a young Naomi Hunter as well. If you don't believe me Google Images "Big Boss Wants You!". There are art images of Big Boss that have never been shown before when other games staring Big Boss have come out, and one of the pictures is of Big Boss with a dog that is apart of something called "Diamond Dogs". I don't know what that is, but it will have a significant role in MGS5. As far as Kojima saying "We are not finished with Solid Snake" I think he means he's not finished with Solid Snake's role in the MGS Series as a whole. What I mean is, ever since he finished MGS4 he's kinda steered away from Snake ever since and has made games starring Big Boss and now Raiden. One of the goals of MGS4 was to retire Snake and his story, and he's done just that. Having the game take place after MGS4 would be just plain silly because it would practically ruin the whole purpose of MGS4 and destroy its meaning. Its already bad enough that Metal Gear Rising now takes place 6 years after MGS4 but then again, its a spin off so its fine (and before you ask, no, I am not a hater of Rising and if anything I am super excited for it. I was very upset seeing that it was delayed to early 2013 but aside from that, I know I am going to enjoy it. The only thing about Rising that worries me is if the main villain killed Snake before his time or seeing Snake's death. But aside from worrying about that, I can't wait to see flashbacks of Solidus, an older Sunny, and playing as a Cyborg Ninja). A young Solid Snake is new and maybe an in-debt showing of his relationship with his father Big Boss before the original Metal Gear would be very interesting to see. And also the possibility of seeing a young Liquid Snake and maybe some sort of cameo for Solidus would be very cool too. I would love to see how Liquid found out about his origins and how he became so evil. Because according to Liquid in MGS1, he was already familiar with Big Boss as apparently he was talked down to by him so seeing it would be welcomed. One of my personal expectations for the game is to see how Big Boss came from being the hero in MGS3 to being an antagonist in the main story line. Portable Ops and Peace Walker kinda did that but he wasn't necessarily the same antagonist I fought in the original Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2. From what I saw, he was still, for the most part, the same guy we left off in Snake Eater. Seeing him taking in children for his army and starting wars and stuff like that in MGS5 should be a necessity. Another thing that I expect to see is a sort of flashback of the Les Enfants Terribles project as it happened, by someone who actually took part of it. Maybe from Para-Medics perspective or Eva's. The reason why I want this is because Its the birth of Solid Snake and Liquid Snake. The main protagonist and the main antagonist of the series. A major event in the Metal Gear Solid timeline that this whole time, we've been told when and why it happened either in a conversation or in the timeline credits instead of seeing it for ourselves. A smart idea would be for it to happen as soon as Solid Snake shows up. And if none of those can be done by Kojima, then at least showing Big Boss passing on his old code name of Snake, to his son would make up for it to me. Anyways those are my personal expectations. It may not be officially confirmed but I'm willing to bet anything that it's a prequel as Kojima is smart enough to not have it be a sequel to MGS4. As for what system, I personally think it would be best that its exclusive for the PS3, or PS4 Launch title if Sony is really planning on releasing it in the coming years. Personally I'm not looking forward to the PS4 as I still love my PS3 and developers have said that there is still more potential in it and there isn't a need for a Next Gen Console right now. In my eyes the PS3 still looks beautiful even if it is a little dated and I am still loving these times were it is still all about the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. I was practically hoping and praying a PS4 wouldn't be announced at this year's E3 and I am so glad they didn't. After MGS5 is released and finished ,if Kojima still isn't officially done with the series as he always claims to be whenever he finishes a Metal Gear game, I think the last thing he should do for the series is make a side story Metal Gear game for the PS Vita starring Solid Snake that takes place in between MGS2 & 4, or maybe in-between MGS1 & 2, and then officially retire the series for good. But other than that, if he really is done with the series for good after MGS5, then this would still be a perfect way to retire the series. |

Or dementia? Maybe problems with his prostate? Seriously though, he was falling to pieces by the end of MGS4; surely there's no way to feature him unless it's some kind of prequel or remake...again. |

YAY!!! That's freaking awesome. I was stoked for Metal Gear Rising alone but the possibility of MGS5 is just rad. Maybe they'll remake Metal Gear 1 and 2 into new games. Eitherway, i'm stoked with my HD re-releases and these two new additions on the way =D |
