Retailers have listed two spangly God of War special editions.

First up is God of War Omega Edition, which contains the two God of War Collections and God of War III in a Steelbook with special artwork, along with a numbered, limited statue.

Listed by German retailer Playfront, Omega edition is yet to be officially unveiled or priced. We’ll bring all the details once they hit.

There’s a similar deal with the collector’s edition of God of War: Ascension. Yet to be revealed by Sony, Amazon is listing a version of the upcoming prequel along with a bunch of bonus extras.

Coming in at $79.99, the special edition contains the game in a Steelbook case, along with an 8″ Kratos statue, a digital version of the soundtrack, a dynamic PS3 theme, a PSN avatar pack, a multiplayer Double XP unlock and an Online Pass for future DLC releases.

God of War: Ascension is headed our way in March.

Im just hoping the 'omega' edition will include disc based copies of the previous games, instead of redeemable codes to download them from the store. I am probably one of the few who dont own physical copies of these great games, and it would be a nice addition.. unlike the resident evil 6 special downloadable extravaganza edition.

I'm not sold on the multiplayer, looks like Skylanders Battle mode to me and until I see it I'm not going to believe any of the devs Sony wheel out to say how brilliant it is.

I'm still looking forward to the campaign but that can wait until preowned copies start becoming available... until Sony reject their plans to block preowned games for the next gen I won't be buying any Sony-published games brand-new.

The Omega edition is only for South America, no idea why the hell that german site put it for pre-order.

The Ascension Collector's Edition was already announced by Sony, during E3, right after Sony's conference...

What a waste, this is a generic Collector's edition you'll always see. Saving up for my Borderlands 2 loot edition anyway so ya skipping it.

@5 Generic? This kind of edition usually costs around 150$, not 80. I personally don't EVER buy any of the huge collector's editions simply cause they cost so much. Look at Skyrim, the thing only had a statue of Alduin (or whatever his name was) and that was it. Price tag was only, you know... 120€ higher than the regular game. What. The. Hell.

I'm a big fan of GoW ever since GoW3 and I probably will preorder this as soon as it's available on some other sites. The game, a statue, free (kind of useless) stuff and a season pass thingy for future DLC, all for 80$? That can't be right... :D Definitely will preorder this as soon as I can get it from a site that's from my country (can't order stuff from international sites without a credit card).

@3 I sorta agree not on the skylanders part but on the multiplayer portion itself. I hope its like uncharted multiplayer which is added on and fun instead of assassins creed style which is awful. Overall the first collection shouldn't even exist because only fans of a series buy big collections and you can't consider yourself a fan if you have not played the first 2 games.

sound tracks are dumb. do people listen to game music in their car? or like, when theyre cleaning the house or something? if i get a special edition, i want in-game stuff. and not useless skins either. im talking an extra level or alternate ending. they can make it available to everyone at a later date. avatars? a theme? no thanks. i would never buy them anyway. i guess the dlc voucher is cool, but if there arent trophies associated with it, i wouldn't get that either, especially since its just guna be MP maps.

If there's ridiculous online rank trophies I'll consider the collectors edition to cut out my time from the MP (which will 99% chance be shit). I've already platinumd the other 5 so have no interest in the bigger one

Looking forward to this game but no interest in the collectors Edition as I've played them all and have the 5 plats..The double XP thing sounds good though, especially if they be cunty and put loads of online trophies in!

I bet Australia is either going to be overcharged for this, or miss out all together, the last collector's edition that was remotely similar to this was inFamous 2's Hero Edition and that costed $250 in Australia.

We generally get rather lame limited or collector's editions (usually consisting of an artbook and/or soundtrack only) in Australia and we have to pay $10-$20 more than the standard versions (which are overpriced as well).

Now that my little rant is over, I'll say this, it looks good but, I just hope it's multiplayer isn't like Ninja Gaiden 3's (I mean it's competitive multiplayer, which really seemed lacking).

Who is behind this spam? I'm just guessing by the username, it's a spam-bot.
