| Though this looks extremely amazing, I say that this is completely unnecessary. The PS3 and XBox 360 still have plenty of power and potential left in them. I think they still have at least 10 years left in them before they should even think about a new console! |

| Meh... I'm I the only one that isn't impressed by this? On the PS3 it felt like the graphical enhancements were needed for the depth of realism some of the games wanted to convey and the games were great too. I was amazed with it but I feel here like something is missing, like we've already seen it before. *Yawn* |

@3: the ps3 has some years left maybe (look at UC3 & how great that looks), but the 360 really has run out of potential.

| @6 think, PS1 1994 Japan, PS2 2000 Japan, PS3 2006 Japan look its a 6 years between each console generation for PlayStation. Now Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo (hahahaha) think its time to give the next step. |

| Does look good, but I agree it's a bit soon to be replacing the PS3, considering many of it's games are just getting better and better graphics-wise. Don't get me wrong I'd love a PS4... but next Christmas at the earliest. Then again, new console = more $ for Sony, so I guess they aren't so bothered about the longevity of their current console. |

I suppose, really though the amount of games I got is the reason why I want the gen to hold back...I'm obviously a trophy hunter...
Sooner or later we can't sync ps3 trophies, means I ethier gotta slow down or accept the fact no one may know I plat skyrim since its last on my "to plat list".
As for the wii I had huge hopes for it...which is why I'm here, it lost me after the last metroid game and the only thing that appeals to me apart from the casual rubbish which worked for the first few years...I was on nintendo's side about the graphics but it's the games themselves that...just blew it.
tldr I wanna sync my trophies before the ps4 comes and wii failed not in graphic power but in game choices for my hardcore gamer range as my inner casual died when i was -1 years old |

| Yea again unless they debunk the anti used games thing for next gen i wont be going anywhere near ps4 not to mention games are already to expensive not many can afford a 500$ system and 70-90$ games anymore |

@3: You're kidding yourself. This gens consoles are the bottle neck of game development. Most games I know only run on 720p while PC supports 3 monitors with a far better definition. Processor power may be the one point a PS3 leads due to the Cell architecture, but only first party studios try to fathom its power while multiplatform games are alway bound to the lowest.
And not to forget that every hardware producer is looking for a better energy efficiency.
Look at how good the PS3 handles Skyrim's open world and compare it to a graphical modded, smooth running PC version on yesteryears hardware and tell me again, that it has 10 more years to live.
With a new minimum development standard we can not only expect better graphics, but also better physics, AI, and more lively enviroments. |

| I agree with #4..just finished the uncharted trilogy, next resistance trilogy, infamous 2+DLC, battlefield 3, gow ghost of Sparta n chains of Olympus. N many more. I think Sony should wait til 2014. And let us enjoy these awesome games a lil while longer. |

| But the main problem is though, games cost so much to make as it is, and lots of developers are having trouble with it. Just look at 38 Studios and KoA. Excellent game, but due to high production cost, even though it sold extremely well, they still had to shut down. I don't even want to think of how much games will cost for the ps4 and xbox 720. |

I don't agree with PS3 game getting better and better. I'm pretty sure that once we've seen the big releases (Far Cry 3, GTA V, AC3, Bioshock etc) it won't be possible to improve on their looks further without a new system.
Anyway all this talk of PS3 can still go strong I'm not so sure. Since the PS4 isn't even announced yet it's unlikely to even appear until holiday 2013 in Japan, Spring 2014 in US and Summer 2014 in EU. Personally I'd say 2 more years is long enough. I'd expect that after the big releases (see above) we won't see any more focus on the current gen, AC4, GTA VI etc are most likely going to be developed for a next gen, lets face it, why would they want to focus on the PS3 in 2013-2014 when they know a new console is around the corner and sales will be slow as people wait for the new system. |

I'm most intrested in how people are gonna take the no rental or buying used games anymore. This is prolly one of the biggest changes in history of console gaming. Seems like a bigger deal then I would have imagine, a lot of my gaming friends are eithier giving up gaming, or sticking with their old system.
I for one will have the newest system and welcome change. Just hope they keep the current trophy system or have some way that we won't have to start over. |

| im not sure i understand the point of coming out with a ps4 already, the ps3 is still basically cutting edge technology and most TVs are barely equipped to handle it already.. what could they improve other than loading times and maybe graphics (albeit just a little) |

| just.. wow. This cant come out any sooner! Now, I know all the haters will hate. And of course its hard to RIP your PS3 cause its technology is still so new, but %^$#! some of us still have the old phat bad boys, and those systems are dying here and there already with heating issues because of newer games too demanding, now, for all of us, Im sure its better off they come out with PS4 so we can move on and not buy another ^&%#$ PS3. Even if PS4 is a little better than PS3, I shell out that extra cash for one than buying another PS3. I think the deal breaker is if PS4 will have PC capabilities. |

| I cannot wait for the PS4 and even when the PS4 hits the PS3 will still be around, seeing as the gaming business makes more than the movies. It only makes sense for game consoles to get more and more powerful for bigger and better games, anyway most dev teams are already working a next-gen game fact. |
