| Bought a PS+ subscription a year back, and aside from a few slow months, I haven't regretted it once. There is always stuff to play, and I rarely get through all of it. When I had a 360 for five years, paying the Gold membership was always a grudge purchase. Worse was when I cancelled my Gold membership and you actually have to call them since they removed the ability to cancel via the software or website. What it actually means is they try and talk you out of it, in fact they tried to get me to gift my subscription to friend ... while I still paid for it. |

@16 - For NA, all titles but Saints Row 2 have trophy support, for EU, all have trophy support.

Let me get this straight...If i sign up today for PS+ i have access to d/l inFamous 2 for free (which is awesome) and say my membership expires, i no longer can play inFamous2 even if install in my hard drive?? And does it come with trophy support? Been a fan of PS World since day 1 but new to PS+

| @20 yea as soon as the membership expires the license for said game is void until you renew the membership, that being said ps+ is a great deal IMO, I just added up the cost of all 12 games (NTSC) and it came to almost 300$, for a 17 dollar sub (I only do 3 months at a time just in case) I'd say the price is well worth it, Sony has been giving away really great games since the new year started |

| Been a happy 320gb ps3 and ps+ subscriber since feb, and the content i've had for what i'd have paid for a years worth of xbl gold is amazing, i'm just sad they said they've dropped ps1/ps2 additions. And hearing that 3 of the titles will be up for d/l all year and others sticking around for months might make future months seem less attractive. |

@20: Right, it's essentially a rental subscription. But considering you're getting 45 (in Europe) games for the price of 1 / year now, it's well worth it in my eyes. Even if you already own some of them or they start repeating titles. The bonus discount will also make up for you soon, depending on how fast you are at spending further money in the store :P
I have subscribed in Feb for FC2 and only let down so far was May, but I feel like I got well back my money's worth though. |

Or I could just go buy the one game on that list that I want but don't already have for $20 and get to play it forever and ever as long as I take good care of my PS3 and disc. Yeah, that's a much better deal than the "free" version that isn't free at all because it costs $50/year to keep the game activated. PS+ is already a scam after the first payment due to how cheap the game is now!

@37: I'd only be a fool to think about it as poorly as you have. Those games are old as hell. They aren't the same price as when they launched anymore. Thus, it's nowhere near $300 worth of games. Furthermore, because they're all old, if you wanted them badly enough, you probably bought them all by now.
It's the same scam PS+ has always been: offering old, cheap games you would have already bought if you were remotely interested in for "free" (where free is actually a $50/year subscription fee or else you don't get to keep playing; in other words, free is not free at all) so they don't lose any sales BUT get people like you who don't think it over a bit more first to spend more money than needed. Look at the list carefully, and if you see any games you actually want to play still but don't own yet, go see how much they cost right now. Bet you can get the few you might actually want for a hell of a lot less than $50. |

I've been aching I want the save cloud feature so much (though 150mb wont last me long I'm afraid) and been trying to find a good enough excuse to get + for it. Here's my excuse & I'm a + member now :D
& buying it now made me able to grab the 10 games they gave last month (2 minis, 1 PS2 & 7 PS3 arcade games) as a nice bonus. Need HDD space, gonna start off with VF5, DS & LBP2...then have a peek at the rest
Not that i swallow sony's crap about free games for 1 second, a free game is mine for free forever, this is lent games, just like if I borrow them from a friend (or rent), eventually I wont have access to them, but I'll have fun with them in the meantime, pick up a cheap disc version if I see myself playing them into the future & still have gotten a lot of gameplay for my $ |

- Lots of people trade there copies in, which renders the arguement of "only free as long as you subscribe" invalid, because a retail game is only yours as long as you have it ;) . The loss they make will probably be more than the costs of a subscription over the year. Also keep in mind that you can access every game they once offered during your subscription as long as it is in your download list.
- How many games do you think you will play again in 10 years? Probably only the ones you bought anyway, so no loss here either.
- "Cheap disc versions" are hardly ever under 20 bucks here and if you buy used you will run into the online-pass issue pretty fast nowadays - making your cheap copy easily double in price for the same rights you have with the PS+ copy. PSN games are very slow in price drops, so there will be no "cheap" besides sales - in which case you will likely benefit from your PS+ bonus discount. If I end up with 3 games (out of 45), I don't have yet and wanted to play, my subscription already paid of
- "Remotely interested" in buying is a complete different matter than trying something new without paying extra money and end up liking it. Also not everybody has the money to buy all the games they want to play. With your words: Look at this list carefully and ask yourself which games you might want to play if they are already been paid.

I don't see PS+ as a scam. I've bought a few games with genuinely good discounts, and I've also got plenty of free games from them. The free games have mostly been games I probably wouldn't have bought in the first place, so I'm not overly bothered about losing them when my subscription runs out. Sly Cooper got me my first platinum too, so can't complain on that front :D
Hopefully LBP2 comes up fairly early, as it's the only game on that list I don't already own on either the PS3 or 360 that I'm remotely interested in. No idea when my subscription runs out. Anyone know how to check? |

Only just subscribed to PS+ a couple of months ago and have love the vast selection of games on offer. As others have said, I rarely get the chance to play all the games on offer but by activating the download at least you can always re-download at a later date.
My only slight issue with the changes however is the removal (or reduction at least) in PSone games and PS minis. The tipping point for PS for me was the ability to download free minis to my Vita (a console that even the most diehard fanboy regretfully admits is a console lacking in a large library of games atm)
Hopefully, they have something in the works for the Vita other than PSone support (something we were promised pre-launch anyway) |
