E3 2012: Battlefield 3 Premium Trailer Sneaks Out in Advance of EA Presser

Over the weekend a trailer for Battlefield 3 Premium leaked ahead of its official unveil during EA’s E3 presser.

Battlefield 3 Premium subscribers will gain access to all five expansion packs, including Back to Karkand, Close Quarters, Armored Kill, as well as two week-early access to both Aftermath and End Game.

The descriptions of those last two packs peg Aftermath as a "fight for survival" and End Game as "lethal high-speed action.”

In addition to this, subs will also get 20 new weapons, more than 10 new vehicles, exclusive dog tags, camo for kits and weapons, new modes, new assignments, new game modes and more.

Full details of the Battlefield 3 Premium service can be found in the image below the trailer. It’ll go live today alongside the Close Quarters expansion, causing a five hour downtime for Battlelog during the following times:

  • 07:00- 12:00 PDT.
  • 10:00 -15:00 EST.
  • 1500 -20:00 GMT.
  • 16:00 -21:00 CET.

There will, of course, be more during EA’s presser. We’ll be all over it.

This has got to be one of the worst kept secrets. Why they didn't announce all this sooner is stupid.

I recall them saying they'd never be pulling this crap?
I mean, if they had released it a few weeks after, and yknow, released some DLC packs less than 6 months after, i'd be mildly interested.

But £40 for 3 dlc packs in this economic state of affairs, and having to WAIT for said DLC packs when i'm paying upfront is too much.
Ontop of the whole server controversy, let alone being able to FIND an official server, i'm going to be surprised if this takes.

maybe they need the money to pay for the extra hours they pay themselves when they stay late to keep fixing and changing things with patches for this now broken game

...from the price of the current karkland dlc, and going by the map packs alone...this works out cheaper buying this service than buying each map by themselves, provided you like all of what they have.

I'll buy I gues though I'd save more money if they done this sooner, thus something else limited edition owners like me would have something else to look forward too.

There should be a discount for those who already have B2K.

@3 Why would you blame cod for this? This was EA and their choice to do this. What is up with some people blaming cod for everything? Honestly, you should have seen this coming, i mean its EA for crying out loud, they are a bunch money grubbing whores just like Activision is.

I have to say, I don't agree with their marketing...

But I'll be buying this as soon as it gets released later.

Actually this isn't that bad. (i always hate DLC's so this must be really a good deal) Back when Battlefield 1942 was released you had 20 maps. So it's actually the same price.

Still it's a way better deal then COD Elite there you only get 3 free map packs for a whole year membership while here it's one time paying fee.
50/20= 2,50 for a map + 20 new weapons + 10+ vehicles + 4 new game modes isn't a really bad deal.

I don't play a lot of BF3 but for once EA has made a good deal.

Still they should come with free maps and modes ore just an expansion pack. But it's a start.

FYI. BF3 Premium is available now on the U.S. PS Store. When I purchased it there were only 6 ratings :D Now downloading the 1383MB 1.05 for BF3 then it's time to playyyyyy!

Already purchased, already DLing Close Quarters (1.1GB) then just to wait 1 more hour for the BF3 Server themselves to be updated and back online!

I feel this is just a bit too slow in coming, bf3 has been out for some time now and since I've hit rank 45 there is less appeal for me to play, its still a great game and I'd of happily dipped in and out but all this is just going to put me off.
