Just what is a MOBA, we hear you cry. Well, it's a Multiplayer Online Battle Arena, and it'll be coming to the PlayStation Network for 'Guardians of Middle-earth', Warner Bros Games and FEAR developer Monolith's Lord of the Rings/Hobbit tie-in title that'll offer 5v5 battling and will feature direct tie-ins to the upcoming The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey movie. Featuring 20 different guardians, including Gandalf, Sauron, Gollum, Thráin and many more, Guardians of Middle-earth's battles will play out in a variety of arenas set across Middle-earth, and will include an in-game voice communication system (chat then) and a comprehensive online stat and leaderboard system for tracking yours and your friends' online victories and defeats, among other things. Guardians of Middle-earth will lead up to and go beyond the movie, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, with several new playable guardians that will release in conjunction with the film. Guardians of Middle-earth will be coming to the PlayStation Network in autumn 2012 for £11.99. | |
