The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf for Consoles Revealed By Retail

The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf has been listed for release by Danish retailers for both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

The news comes just one day before Witcher developer CD Projekt RED’s summer conference. I wonder what they were going to announce. Two separate retailers have mentioned the project. Cool Shop has it listed only on the PS3, but Blockbuster has it on both Xbox 360 and PS3.

The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf is the PC-exclusive first game in the series. It had been planned for a console release, but problems with the company in charge of porting the game meant that it never saw the light of day. Now, however, it looks like the dark fantasy RPG has had a reprieve. We’ll bring more tomorrow following CD Projekt’s press briefing.

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition launched exclusively on Xbox 360 earlier in the year.

It's coming for real this time ? Good if it's true but I'll believe it when I'll see it. We'll see if they announce it at their conference.

I truely hope this is true. The Witcher and The Witcher 2 are 2 amazing games. And CD Projekt is an amazing company that really support the fans. Already got the games on PC and The Witcher 2 on Xbox aswell. Would gladly buy them both for PS3 aswell. They are just so good.

I am genuinely excited over this one. I was gutted when they got shelved the first and the second only out on XBOX was a kick in the nuts. Hopefully they see sense and treat us PS3 users.

@10 yeh, because all we want to do is kill and decapitate people, but you are clearly right the harmless sex scenes are the real problem, not the gore and violence.

Just to be clear here: the rumor is that the first game may actually be coming to the PS3?
Could it then be assumed that The Witcher 2 will also come to the PS3? Did I read that correctly?
If so, then awesome! I've been waiting to play this for a while now.

@11 those parts are just revolting, ghee, i'm pretty sure if they did the same thing but with gay sex scenes you would be wanting to boycot the game for the PS3.
