Ever since Ryu threw his first hadoken across an arcade cabinet screen, Street Fighter has been indelibly ingrained in video game culture, and to celebrate the seminal fighting series' 25th anniversary, Capcom has today announced the Street Fighter 25th Anniversary Collector's Set, which is chockful of SF goodness.

There's the set of games themselves (except for the first Street Fighter), a load of DLC, an exclusive video, artwork, collectibles, an 11-disc soundtrack and a Ryu statue all crammed into one box. Here's the contents and details:

  • Past and Present Street Fighter Games – Playable on current gen PS3 and Xbox 360 console systems, the four critically-acclaimed titles selected from the star-studded catalog are: Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, Street Fighter III 3rd Strike Online Edition, Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition with all costume DLC, and Street Fighter X Tekken including all character and Swap Costume DLC.
  • Exclusive Video – The two-disc Blu-Ray set includes a documentary that highlights the profound influence the franchise has had on fans - and vice versa - throughout the years. The collection of videos also includes Street Fighter IV and Super Street Fighter IV Anime movies as well as all episodes of the Street Fighter animated series and Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie.
  • Light-up Ryu Statue – A specially commissioned and highly-detailed collectable Ryu statue stands prominently at 8” tall and features the iconic character in mid-Shoryuken, with flames lit from below.
  • 11-Disc Soundtrack – Street Fighter game music spanning the past 25 years, in addition to remixes and fan-created music inspired by past Street Fighter games.
  • 64-page Hardcover Art Book – A tribute to Street Fighter game fans from all over the world, the art book includes fan pieces submitted by professional and aspiring artists alike.
  • Ryu’s Belt – Created to regulation specs, the full-size martial arts black belt is a replica of the one Ryu wears and even includes his classic "Fürinkazan" in kanji!
  • Certificate of Authenticity – Each Collector’s Set comes individually numbered complete with a certificate of authenticity.

Between July and December, Capcom will also be running a global Street Fighter 25th anniversary tournament, to celebrate the big event, with a prize fund of half a million dollars.

Meanwhile, the Street Fighter 25th Anniversary Collector's Set has currently been confirmed only for North America with a September 18th, 2012 release date and a price tag of $149.99. Check it out in the images below.

Mmm, sounds about right. Already own SFIII-OE, but Adding the price of SFxTekken, SFIV:AE, and all DLC, it comes to about $120. Therefore, $30 fo the staue, soundtrack, box and all the movies and anime is a steal. Getting one!

This looks pretty cool. You have to wonder though...why in the hell is the first Street Fighter not included with this?! That's like buying the kit for your a tricked out Acura that you already sold. The statue should have been Ryu doing a Hadouken, because SF vets knows Ken has the flaming Shoryuken. Still this is good. No glitches please!

Bah, if it had Street Fighter Alpha 3 in there too, it'd be perfect. Ditto about Ryu doing a shoryuken. Should totally be a hadoken.

@5 depending on how vet you are ken did not always have a flaming shoryuken so this could be seen as very original also I think that capcom sees the first street fighter as a failure because of its bad button detection and lackluster gameplay. Also i am selling x tekken right now for this

@brandaman69

Ken acquired the flaming Shoryuken in Super Street Fighter 2. Point is that Ken had it first. Anyway, failure or not, Street Fighter 2 and beyond had to start some where. Even if it isn't as popular as those after it. It's all to the goody though. I'm still copping this. I've been a fan of SF for well over 20 years now.

@11 ae and x tekken are different because of the roll and the short throw range ryu is top tier while bison is terrible in x tekken but in ae bison has throw traps and many different options which make it very difficult for the opponent on wakeup

@12 I said based on how veteran you are because in original street fighter and most of the versions of street fighter 2 that exist ryu and ken both have no flaming shoryuken's . Also while ryu has a better hadouken in third strike and super street fighter 4 he has a super and ultra shoryuken while ken has his own but very different version of the shoryuken

@14

I know Ryu has his own renditions of Shoryuken. I think its unfair because Ryu has the Tatsu, Shoryuken, and Hadouken of different variations, while Ken has the Shoryuken. I don't count the Tatsu because it goes into a flaming Shoryuken. Well Ryu is the mascot of Capcom now so....

This is an awesome set! I don't own any of the SF series on PS3, so this is definitely something that I might get. $150 for 4 games and the animes is a steal!

@17 I don't get what you mean when you say you don't count the tatsu because kens tatsu is way better than ryu's also ken has better DP's and his ex hadouken is a lot better

11 Discs of soundtrack?! At first I thought it was a typo and they meant 11 TRACK soundtrack, but after looking at the pic they weren't kidding. That's insane!
