Tekken Tag Tournament 2

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Trailer Unveils DLC Characters

A batch of downloadable characters for Tekken Tag Tournament 2 have been revealed.

In the vid below, you’ll see Michelle, Ancient Ogre, Angel and Kunimitsu doing what they do best. The characters will be free for all those who pre-order the game. Later, the character pack will be released to all players, also for free.

All of which is true to Tekken Producer Katsuhiro Harada’s word. "Tekken has never had DLC before and charged for it," he said recently. "This isn’t really directed at Capcom, I have always said this, but I see the characters and their move sets as chess pieces - they are essential items necessary in the game and we would never sell any of those individually."

Check out the vid below. Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is out in September.

Hrm...

I wonder, even though they are free, if they would already be on disc, just being used as an experiment for future dlc packs, since they are talking about them LONG before release...

Still, no charge, if anything just a delay to those who didn't pre-order, sounds good to me ;)

At least Harada seems to keeping his word. No paying for DLC characters, which is really good!

@1 i thought the same

im just hoping this game is going to be good not just hype at least kunamitsu (sorry if i spelled it wrong) is in it after fans wanted her back.

after reading up on the game i had a feeling that it was going to be Tekken 6 with 2 or 3 characters added to me it didn't feel like a Tekken Tag Tournament game just a glorified add-on to Tekken 6 but now with some really old school characters back it feels more like a TTT game

why not just put them on disc to begin with and make 'em playable from day 1??

#5 If you pre-order you do, don't and you don't.

and

#6 obviously it is, if you can't be bothered waiting to begin with since they'll release these characters at a later date...for free.

In other words its marketing, one that is a win win anyway, just means a wait for those who don't pre-order, for the die hards.

Free Characters, but pre-orders will get first chance to play as them. Not bad tbh.

They must not have been included in the arcade release. The only reason I would imagine they're DLC. Still, it's nice that they'll be free.

#10 is right, the game is complete, just needs to be ported to consoles, these DLC characters are console add ons, so if they are on disc or not the dlc was created after the finished game.

Anyways all the main characters are there. Angel, Ogre and other game specific characters are just a nice bonus

I hate day 1 DLC.
But this is how you can do it effectively.
It's more of pre-order incentive as opposed to actual DLC.

Capcom would love to slap a $15 price tag on it I'll bet

The new guys look amazing!! I'm so glad Kunimitsu and Angel are returning, I played them to death back on the PS2.

Bless Harada for letting them be free.

Kunimitsu is looking good. Looks like she's got more of her own moves too rather than just sharing Yoshimitsu's.

Finally they are back, hopefully they'll be in Tekken 7. They should have added 2 more, Forest Law and Alex.

I used to love Tekken 1-3. These new dlc characters suck. No inspiration there.

Been looking forward to this since I picked up Hybrid last year, Angel looks cool, I allways thought she looked like a child in TTT, but she looks cool here and its awesome what there doing with the DLC!

Can't wait for this and Tekken vs Street Fighter.

Finally someone gets it!

Good to know there are people in the industry that aren't simply money hungry morons.

Lol @ #21 for being a self-proclaimed Tekken fanatic. It you have to brag about it, it's likely not true to anyone but yourself. And #22, let's see you give it a whirl. It's a youtube video that you likely didn't watch in it's higher resolution, you ass-hat lulz.
