Here’s an interesting idea. Sony has released the new trailer for the latest Bond film, Skyfall, alongside one for the latest game, 007 Legends. And while the idea may have given more exposure to 007 Legends than it may have otherwise got, we can’t help but think it was a misstep.
Why? Because while Skyfall exudes character, ideas and excitement, 007 Legends just looks cheap. Slap them both together and the game’s lack of style is only thrown into sharp relief. It’s a shame, as we’d go giddy for a decent Bond title. Based on this showing, however, we may have to wait a while for that to happen. We hope we’re wrong.
007 Legends takes elements from six separate Bond movies and ties them together with one overarching narrative. This latest trailer shows off a Moonraker-inspired level, complete with a bit of electrifying Jaws action. It also carries a North American release date for the game: October 16th, which presumably means a 19th October release date in Europe.
