It's that time of year again, when we make all of you fine folks aware of the annual Games Media Awards. Massive thanks to everyone who supported us last year, earning our very own Editor-in-Chief/evil overlord/resident dictator Dan Webb a nod with a lovely nomination. This year, maybe we'll go for a win. We desperately need a nice award to go in our trophy cabinet next to the cobweb and Lee's Mr. Tight Buns award. This year's event will be hosted by Edinburgh Comedy Award winner and Britain Unzipped co-host, Russell Kane, and there'll be a brand-new category added to proceedings in the shape of the 'Games Writer of the Year' award. There'll be the usual array of awards up for grabs at the event, where 350 games industry and media types will be in attendance. Here's this year's GMA categories, including the dubious honour of being named 'Top Tweeter'. Ahem...
If you'd like to vote for the site or for Dan, Lee or myself in any of the above categories, you can send your vote to gma@intentmedia.co.uk. You can also follow the GMAs on Twitter @GamesMediaAward. Voting ends on July 20th. The Games Media Awards will be back once again at last year's Vinopolis venue at Bankside in London on October 18th. For more information on this year's GMAs, head on over to MCV. Vote for us! Y'know... if you want to and stuff. | |
