Fans of hit FX show, Sons of Anarchy will be pleased to hear that the planned browser-based game has been shelved in favour of a "real" game for consoles. Series creator Kurt Sutter effectively announced the game on Twitter with the following:

"[Sons of Anarchy] game update. Had a great meeting with a big distributor yesterday. Myself and everyone at FX and Fox is committed to making this happen," Sutter tweeted. "Yes, we definitely wanna do a real game. Console based. Not some slapcrap browser MP thing. It'll take awhile, but it's the right way to go."

Apparently, the game is in pre-production, although there are no concrete details on the project at present. It will appeal to female fans of the show however, Sutter assured in response to a tweet. "The [Sons of Anarchy] game will definitely appeal to women gamers as well. Nothing hotter than a girl with a controller in her hands," said Sutter.

Could we be seeing a GTA: Lost and the Damned-style approach for Sons of Anarchy the game? Who knows... One thing's for sure though: it won't be like Telltale's The Walking Dead on PSN, as Sutter commented that it felt "rushed and a bit unsatisfactory."
