@6 You're doing better than me, I'd be lucky to get 2mb, ps3 or pc, harden up :P As for my view, meh I'm stuck with mass effect 2 and yakuza dead souls plus many other offline games for awhile, which is good because my ps3 cuts out alot, damn cheap isp's in australia... |

| @9. I see what you did there sir. good one lol. come on people, as said, PSN is free, if they don´t fix it you may be signing in and out all day, you wont be able to play online in peace for that. you will buy something from the store and wont be able to download it. no refunds for sure, and the mind control device on your ps3 wont work if they don´t update as it works with PSN secret stuff lol. all this may happen without maintenance |

@1 Better on weekdays then on the weekend I would say. @5 Someone needs to find a new game to play! @6 Sounds to me that it's time to upgrade your internet speed. Or leave it on when you go to sleep and have it shutdown when it's done. Can't get any easier than that. |

@8 Playstation Home is a rare house made out of Playstation 3 consoles that anyone who bought the newest version of the PS3 Slim earned. All appliances in the house (oven, microwave, refrigerator, etc) function through means of wifi and internet access, so without PSN service, no appliances work because everything is Playstation-based. It's like going through a power outage, which is why you may hear many people with Playstation Homes complain when there is maintenance. Maintenance means that the Sony staff members are upgrading their service so that your appliances run more effectively. |

| Well it's a good thing that they are fixing it yet every now then. It will help Playstation Network from getting hacked so I'm actually glad. I rather have one day a week offline instead of 2 months offline. |

To everyone saying "It's free so it's cool", kindly shut the fuck up. Seriously. Shitty service is still shitty service, no matter how much you pay for it. And people have every right to complain about shitty service. Taking PSN down every month for unspecified maintenance is completely shitty. They should either stop taking it down all the god damn time so people can play, and if that's not possible, at least say what the hell they're actually DOING. They're treating their customers like shit and keeping us in the dark about why. Pretty bad business practice, and no amount of bullshit "well, it's free" comments will change that. Besides, it's not free anyway. I seem to recall paying $300 for a PS3 and $60 per game, and imagine the poor bastards who actually pay for PS+ and can't use the cloud saves, betas, store discounts, and other exclusive features that they paid for because the network is down. Again. And to everyone saying "well at least it won't get hacked again", where did you get this info that Sony is upgrading security? All it says it maintenance. That could mean ANYTHING. It could be that they're upgrading security, or it could be that they're just replacing some faulty cables. You have NO FUCKING IDEA what they are doing. Stop trying to tell people that they shouldn't complain because they're keeping PSN from being hacked by bringing it down every month because YOU DON'T KNOW THAT THEY'RE ACTUALLY DOING SECURITY UPGRADES. Seriously, I'm starting to feel like the only person on this website with any common sense. |

I have online and offline games, as long as I have enough notice to leave my ps3 on in the morning before work I'm happy. I haven't found any probs tonight (2100 BST) anyway. This isn't XBL, we don't have a subscription we're losing value on during downtime so all Sony really need to do is communicate properly with us. The poor Blog guys get the flack and they tend to only hear at the last minute too. If it's _scheduled_ maintenance then somebody need to communicate the _schedule_, simples. |

Another maintance?, gosh... since the Vita came out i see this maintance more often, why Sony not use a full week of maintance for put all new feature, patches and the other things in one go and not this random-surprise maintance hours? But anyway, i'm more an offline/single player guy so is not a problem for me |

What is it with the PSN that it needs that much maintenance downtime? Even if there was so much to do, couldn't they do it all in one go next week? How about X-Box Live or what it's called, does that go down once a week for maintenance, too? Besides, I don't think I ever heard of the Wii network being offline ever. ??? |

Er yeah cause it's not actually offline. If you actually read the message they say "If you have signed into the account recently should be able to sign in and continue online during this period." Although would be curious to know what time they class as recently, but explains why I always can sign straight back in when Fifa decides to crash. Sucks for anyone who can't get on though, I find the whole thing rather strange. |

| I'm getting a lot of mixed feelings... But whether you like it or not, playstation network WILL be down on May 9th. No ones going to die while waiting, and complaining about it isn't going to change anything. Sony says maintenance and psn says good bye. |

PSN is not free, it is part of the ps3 I bought with my money. (The third, by the way, yeah, I got a bit unlucky with breaking consoles lately, at least the first one was still under warranty when it gave up on the second day I had it^^.) And no one is complaining about maintenance happening, but why does it have to be that often? One week, then again next week ... why not make all in one run? @40: That's not what I meant, but you are right. And I worded it poorly. |
