Wow I wasn't expecting it to be like this, more something like the possibility to do the main adventure in co-op for example and that's about it. I didn't know they would implement a proper multiplayer mode.
We'll see how it'll look... Hopefully it will be decent. |

| Think I'll reserve judgment for now. Sounds promising and at least they have thought about how to implement it without just throwing a load of kratoses (Krati?) into a death match type scenario. Am never really one for multiplayer usually but if it works well and its fun then I'll give it a bash. |

It's a sad day.
I always thought there would be some franchises immune to the virus that is multiplayer gaming.
God of War really does not need an online option. It needs fantastic story, brutal and fulfilling gameplay and console defining graphics!
It does not need a bunch of muppets trying to grind out the game for it's inevitable MP trophies and not playing the tacked on MP as it's meant to be played.
For fuck's sake! |

Quite honestly, I suspect this is a lot less about adding a quality new feature, and (IMO) more about trade in/used game sales.
GOW 3 dropped quickly in price. It was a great game, and I still have it in my collection, but once the SP is done, the game is done.
The number of used copies around is staggering.
The multiplayer will undoubtedly add length, and most likely will have trophies attached.
Being a cynic, I now think a lot of this is to delay trade ins and keep the retail price up longer (think Crysis and its 6 mo trophy - that was purely to 'force' people to keep it longer and reduce trade ins). |

| Everybody bitching about multiplayer should just kill themselves. Some singleplayer games should only be singleplayer but others have opportunitys of having multiplayer. Multiplayer adds replay value and gives the game a longer life span. |

It's funny how you people always judge that if there's multiplayer, the Single Player won't be as good...
Wake up!
They have a freaking pre-set story script that they already know from the get-go, that they will tell in the main single player mode...
Otherwise they wouldn't even start making the game, for God' sake, you're overreacting to something that will most likely add tons of replay value and will be amazingly well done. |

The only reason the new GOW will have MP is the SONY online pass.
Now if you buy it used and want to play MP, SONY gets $10.
Honestly, there is no other reason for this game to have multiplayer or co-op of any sort. It has always been a story about ONE pissed off ashen dude trying to get revenge.

| Assassin's Creed had 2 installments of ONLY single player, then they threw in MP and it turned out really well. I personally don't play it, but a lot of people still do. |

Lets see if I will play this an hour longer than the ME3 Multi, which was worth about two hours.
Such BS, tacking all this crap on, @23, your telling me NO bioware resources were compromised or affected for the making of ME3 MP (cause remember this is exactly what they said as well, and then we all find out you have to play MP to complete vital SP gameplay components!) and NO resources will be jacked for GOW, I find that highly doubtful.
But we will all be idiots and buy it up like an ice cream cone, then we will shell out for the crappy DLC maps as well a few months after. They are not going to stop this insanity until we stop... |

Everybody, check this out. There's a video of the multiplayer in action. The screens don't do it justice, you seriously need to see it for yourself. Although I don't think GoW needed multiplayer... it doesn look pretty damn impressive. You can tell they're trying to stay as close to the game's roots as possible. |

dang...I'd been hoping the co-op rumors were true as that sounded appealing to me, this, meh, we'll see...
I'll take it with the same open mind I take all games on with, but in a lifetime of gaming I've only ever met 2 series that are fun to me in competetive online, apart from racers, fighters & 90's FPS's of course, and that's Ace Combat & Twisted Metal. But those games are practically written for competetive play & Team play, the idea of this GoW competetive sounds just as absurd to me as a Competetive Tell-Tale game. Still, I'll give it a chance if someone I knows picks it up.
This will be the first GoW game I'm gonna wait out & try before buying & if the online don't grab me I'll just borrow it for the story and spend the money on a decent single player game that's still just that |

Dont know what to make of this because i always saw this game as a single player game and nothing more now that MP is coming to it i just pray that its implemented right and doesnt ruin the gow experience that we have all come to know and love.
To me personelly if it was to have online it should of been online co-op only best example i give is my favourite games is the bioshock series and to me the mp just wasnt very good and kinda took away what the sp experience brought but were just have to see how this turns out |

@25 ME3 Multiplayer is actually pretty good. Still playing it.
And seriously, I think all of ME3 faluts can be traced to design decisions and the usual Bioware faults, rather than being understaffed.
I mean Uncharted 2 introduced Multiplayer and Uncharted 2 was awesome. |

| The people who cry about MP are the dudes who dont even try to master that game online at all. just for the trophies and to move on to the next. People on here need to realize most of the gaming community dont even care for trophies like that. Out of all my psn friends I only have 2 friends who are even higher than lv 20. Most people I know personally don't even play GOW like that cause it's too short of a game. Now that it has MP it can get a new crowd of people to play it. I for one can't wait to see how it plays out. I like to beat people in MP games. I spend most of my time playing MP games than SP. I like to play with and against others. Most gamers are MP so live with it. |

Is there a way to stop companies from doing this, some games need to be left as they are kratos is a killer who will he work side by side with, without getting tired of his company or using them to his advantage and in part 3 he died so really that should have been it.

I dont know why there is so much hate for multiplayer, As long as its fresh It's cool imo, This honestly looks really badass and fun, I like how you can customize your own character to. I love MP that allows you to make your own character, I sort of make my own story around him to.

| i am very excited that another god of war game is coming out and i am sure that the story will rock but multiplayer in a GoW comeon. i'l try it but if there are trophies for it i'll be pissed. i just finished boosting my first mp game and it took 2 months! if it has mp trophies they better be available in campaing mode, i hate not having 100% or platinum for my games don't you? before you say i don't play for trophies i fully enjoy my games and get my monies worth and to me that includes getting all the trophies i can. none-the-less i eagerly anticipate this game and have a good day! |

Well, first of all, the reason this is getting multiplayer is because despite those who are moaning about it, there are a higher percentage of gamers who enjoy multiplayer. All of these epic single player games are eventually going to have some form of multiplayer implemented into them to appease the masses.
Granted, I would've liked a co-op story more than a general all-round multiplayer mode.
What I don't get is the people suggesting it is going to ruin the franchise. It's not like the game is cancelling the single player aspect of the game. It will still be another epic Kratos story, just with an added multiplayer for those who enjoy that shit to play afterwards.
It ain't like you're being forced to play the multiplayer. If you don't like it then just get the game, do the single player and be done with it. You complainers are acting like this is gonna be a massive multiplayer god of war game with the single player campaign as some type of small extra. |

| Why does every game refuse to simply add on SP co-op play? I doubt GoW will disappoint as a game and I dont mind the addition of MP, but I just cannot understand why developers don't understand that some people actually have friends and family at home that wouldn't mind jumping in on the action. Regardless, I can't wait for any title with GoW on it. |

| This is a very interesting concept to God Of War, I must admit I am very anxious to get give it a go! I have been a big fan of the God of War series ever since it was first released, I even went back and re purchased them all on the next gen consoles and adding Mp to it will rather be the best thing they have ever done to the series or the worst! One thing I am very excited for is added game play time! Don't get me wrong the earlier games were absolutely stunning but only had 10-15 hours game play at most therefore I felt I was hardly getting my moneys worth. But then there is also the fact that it might ruin the game as well, I'm saying that it might scare away fans because they wont accept the change or it'll will be one of them dud Mp games that no one ever plays online therefore being pointless! I am hoping there are no MP trophies just because if it does have a dud turnout it will be near impossible to platinum! no matter what the outcome is though I'm defiantly keen to pre order this and give it a go :) |

| @18 all you had to do to get the 6 month trophy for crysis was trade in your game once you had all the other trophies then buy it back used from gamestop then return it within a week and get your money back lol. I dont abuse that policy but I have used it before thats how i plat'd infamous 2 without paying a dime for it but now it was just fee anyways on p plus. anywasy back to subject im usually against multiplayer and I was furious when i heard assassins creed was gonna get multiplayer and i think thats the most fun ive ever had playing a MP game so I will save judgement as should everyone else. get over it 90 percent of all games now WILL have some sort of multiplayer its just the age we live in in console gaming |
