The countdown to the next Call of Duty reveal may still be underway, but the official website has already started to reveal its secrets.

One of the many tabs on the site has unlocked, revealing a video featuring something called a ‘quadrotor,’ an RC attack drone. Could this be one the game’s multiplayer killstreak rewards? It looks likely.

The video, hosted by popular YouTube channel FPS Russia, doesn’t show the game in action, but instead shows “footage” of the quadrotor doing its thing.

"Looks like the future's going to be fun,” says the presenter of the video. “But if you can't wait another 15 years my friends are telling me that this baby might just be in the next Call of Duty game, which would be the shit."

The futuristic tech of the quadrotor has led many to speculate that the next Call of Duty game will be set in 2027, fifteen years from now. Others, meanwhile, have analysed the video to come up with other clues. The host’s shirt has “Tacitus” written across the front, for a start. Tacitus was a Roman senator and historian who wrote about many things, including an eclipse.

Why is this relevant? Well, the word “eclipse” has been used both internally and in marketing materials for the game. And we’re due an eclipse, a real one, on Nov 13th this year. Some believe that this could be the game’s release date.

The truth is, however, that we just don’t know anything. But expect plenty more of these kind of teasers leading up to the game’s May 1st reveal.
