| tbh SR3 really didnt feel like an open world to me, it kinda felt bleak, even though volition could of expanded on the ideas GTA 4, The Saboteur and Mafia 2 offered, and after the quote of volition saying a console that banned used games would be great and the 3 million? or so was enough sold for them, i kinda loss disrespect for them, and i hope THQ finds a better company to develop SR4. |

@6 SR3 had very different approach compared to 3 games you mentioned. Also what THQ developer you would see taking place of Volition that developed all Saints rows so far? Vigil games with hands full developing Darksiders 2, Griptonite games that has only developed poor license games recently, Relic entertainment that specializes in strategy games, Yuke's that has only developed wrestling games or some of their or some Wii developer? Volition is already working at 4th installment, and tbh i dont see any THQ Studio that would have enough experience of developing open world games besides Volition. Not a big fan of Volition with extremely hostile dlc prices, but liked SR's so far. Didn't except GTA quality, still enjoyed them. |

| @8 yeah but on the open world aspects possibly more indepth in the community like with GTA, saints row could of included night clubs and bars and other shops, as well as buildings to enter rather than the morjority being sealed. That with The Saboteur and Mafia 2 they could of seen than they had very little pop in textures for such games dating back to 2009, that in Mafia 2 you had the place were you grew up were a lot of people were poor, and they looked por and everywere else people dressed differently, yet in saints row they dress the same almost everywere, no homeless or anything. In the saboteor you had some destuctability, talking civilians that comment on you climbing or killing, yet in saints row all i heard was silent or screams... you see what im getting at? plus THQ doesnt need those companies to be there only companies to make games as they dont own Crytek yet there creating Homefront 2, so any developer could pull it off if THQ payed an said 'hey look at the other SR's, keep to that'. |

@9 I can definitely see your point. World of SR3 felt quite static but not to the point it would ruin the game. I understand that it can matter more for some. Mafia 2 did have nice atmosphere, however i claim it was partly because of the good story and how the world changed between the beginning and the end. The dlc showed some flaws in the game though, it simply wasnt fun to just drive around and kill random goons without a proper story. On SR3 side missions and fooling around in free roam was more satisfying. Saboteur had great atmosphere too and freeplay targets were enjoyable to take down although i usually hate collectibles. One of the most underrated games imho. Now, if they were able to combine the atmosphere like Mafia 2 or IV had, the quick, seamless gameplay and nice side missions, SR4 would be excellent. The first isn't something SR's have succeeded in, but 3 was improvement from SR2's huge dead areas. |
