Disney has released the debut trailer for Epic Mickey 2: The Power of 2, giving us a look at the game’s previously announced features and a peak at revelations yet to come. In the trailer, which features a chunk of gameplay, you’ll see Mickey and his sidekick Oswald the Rabbit moving through the Cartoon Wasteland, a place for forgotten Disney rides and characters. You’ll also see Mickey’s brush, the item with which he interacts with the environment, as well as Oswald’s remote control, capable of commanding electricity. These two tools are at the heart of the Epic Mickey 2’s co-op gameplay, which also includes Move compatibility. What the trailer doesn’t mention, however, is the fact that Disney are calling Epic Mickey 2, “the first video game that can be described as a ‘musical.’” Apparently, at points throughout the narrative characters will burst into song. Emmy award-winning composer James Dooley and lyricist Mike Himelstein have been called in to help on that front. Furthermore, the music will change based on the players’ “personal choices,” allowing you to “conduct” your own unique soundtrack. No more info was given than that. Intriguing, eh?
