hehe oddly I heard from staff in my local store, that GAME/Gamestation had around 75% of market share from none website games sales (would clearly lower when you add sites sales from huge places like amazon). And GAME's fall out with EA and lack of stocking their newer titles was due to being asked to pay up front (something they've not had to do before) for newer EA titles like ME3, Fifa Street & SSX, due to EA wanting to close their annual financial years profits higher. I hope they do rise like a phoenix because it'd blow to only see games sold in super market chains. You want the feedback from staff who actually know gaming not just someone who can run the item over a bar code machine and say thank you. |

| I think most people would welcome GAME back with cheaper prices and better-informed staff, my local store is good though (the staff anyway, prices are still shit). |

@2 I completely agree with what you mean by getting feedback from gamers! but i have to say, pretty much every GAME i've been to (and its a lot) every member of staff give or take the odd exception know little to nothing about games. An example is when i went to buy Uncharted 3 Last year, the conversation went. "Do you have my Uncharted 3 pre-order?" (my local branch gave free pre-orders + £5 PSN vouchers free with pre-orders) "Yeah, would it have been for XBOX360, or PS3?" Normally this is fine, one guy i know shares this particular inside joke as he is fully aware a lot of staff don't know one from the other. but this time it was a newly hired female member of staff. I genuinely walked out and went to Argos. It was cheaper anyway, which i guess is their problem. Even now they're charging £29.99-£39.99 for a game you can find on-line/in other retailers for cheaper. It really is a shame, and I do wish them the best of luck. I love looking round their stores etc, but they can't treat the customers the way they do. Poor price point choices, abysmal pre-owned choices, lack of clarity on DLC availability, (preowned online pass etc) failure to change prices accordingly, professing an unparalleled game knowledge when most members of staff "have an Xbox" etc is just not good enough for a company that prides itself on being the leaders in GAME expertise. Hopefully this phoenix rises with a complete overhaul of it's workings, attitude to games/customers, and a better overall grasp on who does need help choosing a game, and who's just a great big neckbeard (me) |

| Even if Game did rise-up like a phoenix out of the ashes I would still buy all my games from Asda Direct, why because in some cases their is a big price differents. Take Ninja Gaiden 3 i Pre-Ordered it on a special deal for 29.95pounds now it's around 34.95 - 39.99 where in Game it would be around 44.99pounds. Game cannot compete with Asda Direct or any other supermarket for that matter, but saying that Game does well mostly because of used games. |

"The opportunity for video game retailers is think broader than just the shiny discs.” Now, to me, this says that EA are planning on scrapping retail release 'hard copy' games. If that is the case, and I have to pay over-the-top prices for digital copies of games, then I'm sorry to have to say this, but I will walk away from gaming forever, and EA will never have another penny from me! Now, if you will excuse me, I am going to sit in a corner and cry a little bit! |

@4, That reminds me 4 years ago when I went to preorder Metal Gear Solid 4 from my local game store. A guy wearing a World of Warcraft t-shirt asked me for which platform do I want the game. The amount of facepalm was unspeakable, I'm not expecting the people to know all the facts, but this one was pretty big. |

They need to change Points card system and actually give rewards not having to get 1000 pints for a crap £2.50 voucher, I get that off for just spending £25 at Tesco cause I work for them. Anyone remember Electronics Boutique before GAME took over there card system was miles better. Actually meet prices with other retailers stop charging more in store than there website Have staff trained to a level where they know games and what system there on without having to pick up a blue folder to find out about it. |

| I went into game today thinking they may have some good offers on trying to get as many sales as possible but the cheapest prices of the spring clean offers are still beat by almost every other store i went into for all the games i was interested in by atleast £5 they had final fantasy 13-2 preowned for £25 which is the same price as a new copy from my local asda and asda offered me more on my trade in aswell i feel sorry for the staff of my local store as they are actually pretty good but the company cant get away with the high pricepoint anymore. |
