The latest content drops for Modern Warfare 3 have finally been dated. They’ll hit PS3 premium elite subscribers on April 12th. Well, give or take an hour or five.

Speaking on his blog, Activision’s Dan Amrich revealed that the precise date is not controlled by the publisher and as such it is impossible to put a precise time on the release.

“The exact posting time for PSN DLC is up to Sony, since they run and update the PlayStation Store,” he explained.

“Maybe that updated will be mid-morning, or maybe it will be late in that day; maybe that will make it actually technically the next day if you live in Europe, which would be “around 4/12.” 

He continued, “Activision can’t promise a date because Activision doesn’t update the digital stores itself. I think of it as if Activision is Pepsi and Sony is the grocery store; we deliver the fizzy water, but they actually run the checkout line. Make sense?”

Pretty much, Dan. Pretty much.

Modern Warfare 3 Content Drops 4, 5 and 6 are the Black Box map, plus Special Ops missions Black Ice and Negotiator. They will be made available to non Elite subscribers at a later date. Video below... branded with Xbox 360 guff. Sorry.
