| This is why I wait for GOTY editions, as it comes with all the previously launched DLC. But I really want to pick this up, as I just finished the second one lol |

@1 I dont know why you would wait for this to go GOTY, your putting off playing one of the biggest titles of the year just because they might do some extra DLC, seems a shame really. who the hell rants about FREE DLC that comes with the game? who cares if part is on the disc and part needed downloaded? surely in this day and age your PS3 has enough memory and what is five minutes of download time when an extra part of this epic story is the reward? The problem with gamers now a days is that they are all ungrateful, Mass Effect 3 is one of the biggest titles this year so far, highly anticipated doesnt even cut it and now that its out someone has a gripe about it, STFU and play the damn game. |

| @3 the dlc is not free for normal copies, just the LE. I believe it's €10 and that's a pretty big price for something that's already on the disc |

| @3 too right, on both accounts. Really bugs me when people moan about the little things in gaming when there's retailers going out of business and developers closing down who have given us great, classic games |

| Many people remember the fond days of the ps2 when you paid for a full game though. We didn't need dlc in those days and making people pay for something that at one time would have been included in the game makes people pissed |

| @3 Why is it a shame to not buy it now? As much as I'd like to get it now, I can't afford to especially with all the DLC that will inevitably get released, GOTY editions are great and it doesn't matter if I play it now or in a year, as long as I play it. |

I have the same approach as #1 Canadian_Wilson. I wait for Ultimate Editions, Game of the Year Editions, what have you. I know Mass Effect 3 will be a good game but I have the patience to wait until I can get the game for a better price with more content. I respect people that buy the game on day one -- I do that as well with some games -- but I do myself and my bank account a favour by waiting some time before buying a game. Like I said, I can wait, even if the waiting is on a game like Mass Effect 3. And I do not agree with #7 lfcfrank94. EVERYONE has the right to decide whether or not to pay a certain amount of money for a product. I don't judge people buying on day one and I expect the same courtesy when I decide to wait for a better deal. This might shock some people on here but I do not think that I should pay more money right now for a product that will be cheaper and will feature added content in a couple of months just so that some stores can stay open. I'm all for support but not up to the level that I feel I'm wasting my money just to keep some shops in business. Sorry but that does not feel like a solution -- that feels like we're replacing the problem. As in all economy and financing, the consumer does not provide the asking price but the consumer DOES vote with his Dollar (or, in my case, Euro). I choose not to buy a game on day one when it has more DLC on the way. I believe I have that right just like everyone who bought the game in the first week, making ME3 the best selling of last week had the right to buy the game. As stated previously, I do not denounce any of those consumers but I hope that my choices are met with the same respect. |

| @8, how cool could some PS2 games have been if they had added content though? SSX Tricky probably could have been DLC instead of a full retail release. The same could even be argued for Vice City which in its own way was just an expansion of GTA III. |

@11: I Did you played them? GTA:VC is a complete different game. New Character - who actually is a Character rather then the nameless, voiceless, "yeah, whatever"-husk you played in GTA3 -, whole new Story, new full-sized city and lots of additional content GTA3 didn't featured like changing clothes, helicopters & motorcycles, pizza delivery, and stadium races to name some. I still can't decide whether to buy it or not. On the one hand I really want to know the ending of the story, on the other hand I miss 1&2 for PS3, got them for PC back then, and therefore the continuous save file :(. Effin EA with its Origin BS. |

| @10 Urmmm I'm not saying people shouldn't have the choice about how much they pay, that would be absurd.... I was simply stating that if DLC is on the disc or not shouldn't make people have a fit, please understand the context before you go making such accusations, thank you. |

Everyone's in a tizzy over the fact that someone on PC found a way to unlock the character, so that automatically means the entire DLC was on disc...and PC gamers are supposed to be smart. There's been so many rants about this issue. Devs trying to defend it. An ex-BioWare employee telling gamers that we "need to stop acting like we're producers" or something along those lines. And that the pre-production team would be laid off or idle if they didn't produce this DLC. There's so much ignorance and arrogance coming from BioWare and EA right now. They almost think gamers are stupid and that we have no idea how anything works. But first, I neither defend nor fight against day-one DLC because DLC is optional. You either buy it or not (kinda like how you chose to buy the game or not). But I am against the devs who talk down to us. Gamers are not juveniles who simply don't know what happens before a game is released, and we don't bitch about patches and fixes once the game is out. Gamers are becoming very aware of what goes on behind the doors of devs. And that pre-production team getting fired for doing nothing crap? So it was a common thing to fire the pre-production team back in the PS2 days when DLC didn't exist? Both sides are being childish and jumping the gun on accusing each other, and it's kind of pathetic. |

#13 lfcfrank94 In my defence, if I did misspoke, you never actually clarified your argument at all. If my fault is speculation, then your fault is allowing uncertainty in your statement. I still stand by my earlier post. I do not condone asking consumers to pay for products just to keep some stores in business. |

| I'm waiting for this one only because I want other games more, but this one is probably not a game to wait for the goty eddition because i doubt it is going to be loaded down with dlc with games that where really worth waiting for the game of the year edition, ala Fallout 3/New Vegas, Dragon Age Origins and Saints Row the third being examples that have so much mass of dlc that made waiting worth it for the wallet. |

@3 I think you need to check what your saying. The Ashes DLC is not free at all. If you got it for free , then you bought the Collectors Edition. And if you bought the Collectors Edition then you paid at least a 1/3 more than we did for the Regular Edition and with that you did pay for the Ashes DLC THAT WAS ALREADY ON THE DAMN DISC!!!! So if someone wants to wait for the GOTY Edition then I say kuddos to them if they can hold out that long , I for one can't & already bought the game & had to pay for the somewhat, & I quote "FREE DLC" you are refering to. So I say we have the right to BITCH & RANT all we want if we have to pay for something thats already on the disc. End of my Rant. BTW Mass Effect 3 is AWESOME!!!! |

| I don't mind DLC, I buy it & feel like I've had my money's worth off the DLC I've got. But From Ashes DLC is a bit of a piss take, I've played Mass Effect one, two & now playing three. When playing Mass Effect 3 I did not realize I was playing the DLC, & I thought great we get to know what happen to the this race from the beacon ME one & what's been mentioned over ME 0ne & two. To me that was part of the main story anyway, then when the trophy popped & I realized that that was the DLC I thought you cheeky twat's. soon it'll be the half the story we pay for in DLC, only this time it was only a small part of the story but the story all the same. |

I don't get how anyone can justify this day one DLC. Soon we will be paying £5 an hour for the game to be running at all. Consumers aren't killing the retailers/developers, developers are digging their own grave by screwing us over and subsequently digging retailers graves as no one wants to buy their games. Seriously screw you EA. |

| What does it the F even matter? The stuff being or not being on the disc doesn't make anything worse or better. |
