Dark Knight Rises Game and Battlefield Evolved Listed By UK Retailer

According to a 2012 release schedule from a major UK high street retailer, The Dark Knight Rises could be getting a video game adaptation. It'll be the first Batman movie game since the awful Batman Begins video game. The schedule also mentions something called Battlefield Evolved.

With The Dark Knight Rises being the final outing for director Christopher Nolan's Batman series, it would make sense for Warner Bros to capitalise on the movie franchise while it still can. But given that Medal of Honor: Warfighter is EA's big shooter for the year, releasing this October no less, we're not entirely sure what Battlefield Evolved could be.

A fully-fledged Battlefield outing seems unlikely, but more viable is MCV's suggestion that it could be a Game of the Year subtitle for Battlefield 3 with all of the game's planned DLC.

Both games are supposedly slated for autumn release on the retailer's schedule, along with Grand Theft Auto V. Could Rockstar get GTA V out of the door as early as autumn 2012? We're not so sure. As always, take this all with a big old pinch of salt.

	Another Batman game! :( This is a movie based game that are almost always rushed to be on the shelves in time for the movie, not something awesome and polished like Arkham Asylum or City.

	When I saw Battlefield Evolved my first thought was "here comes EA's way of competing with Elite". I wouldn't put it past them, DICE are cool but EA would sell their own grandmas to beat Acti. It probably is just a name for the GOTY, which is a shame if that release signifies the last of the BF3 DLC, surely EA can see that BF3 and Warfighter can coexist? That Batman movie tie-in will be pure shite, I'd rather play Lego Batman... on a DS... with a cracked screen... after breaking both thumbs.

	@ 10 - you do realize that the 'good name' of batman video games is ONLY arkham asylum and city right? before that, pretty much every single game was a trainwreck. looks like we're getting back to formula, which is sad.

	I'm really wondering who's in charge of developing this title, and honestly considering it's certainly not RockSteady (because they already demented it) I'm not expecting much. Still curious to see how it will look like tho...

	Is it April 1st already? Because that's the biggest joke I've read all day! We don't need any more film to video game adaptations, especially when we already have two great games on the same character.

	If the DKR game is real, whoever is developing it would be smart to just basically copy the gameplay of Rocksteady's Batman games and just reskin it to match the movie's style. That doesn't mean it will be a good game, just a decent playable, but graphically and narratively inferior game that will likely be good for trophies like the other comic book movie tie-ins have been (ala Green Lantern and Captain America).

	@16 That would actually be very amazing if it were to be a Vita game. EA has already stated that the current plan for BF and MoH is to alternate them yearly like Activision does with CoD devs Infinity Ward and Treyarch, so another full-fledged BF on consoles/PC is out of the question. A Batman movie-based game? It won't be as good as the Rocksteady games for sure. Movie games generally and most often suck. As for GTAV releasing autumn this year...that's a tough one. It's certainly possible, since being close to the holiday season will generate sales.

	I can imagine Sefton Hill is trying to avoid Warner Bros right now. As for GTA 5 I imagined it'd have a 2013 release date, games don't normally tend to be released this soon after they've been announced (Soon being November 2012 in this case unless your making Assassin's Creed or Call Of Duty)
