Promising to go beyond the war in Afghanistan, depicted in 2010's Medal of Honor reboot, Medal of Honor: Warfighter will have you playing missions inspired by real-world events, including tasks like rescuing hostages in the Phillipines to eliminating pirates around the Somali coast. Medal of Honor: Warfighter is looking to be "gritty and authentic" giving players an "up close and personal look into the fight against today’s global terror threat," says the EA press release. It'll tell the personal story of Tier 1 Operator, 'Preacher', which is actually written by real Tier 1 Operators. Preacher returns home to find his family torn apart by his years of combat deployment, so he strives to save what's left of his marriage. However, he's called back into action when a deadly explosive threatens civilian borders. The game's multiplayer meanwhile, will boast 12 different nation's Tier 1 Operators from the global battlefield, including the Australian SASR, British SAS, German KSK and Polish GROM among others, enabling nations to go head-to-head online. Both single-player and multiplayer will be powered by DICE's Frostbite 2 engine. Finally, pre-ordering Medal of Honor: Warfighter will net you a free upgrade to the Limited Edition, which gives you a US Navy SEAL Tier 1 Sniper on launch day, saving you the almost 40 hours it takes to unlock the unit in-game. You can check out the first three screenshots and yesterday's announcement trailer again below. Medal of Honor: Warfighter is out on October 23rd, 2012. ![]() ![]() ![]() | |
