THQ has today confirmed that the Homefront: Ultimate Edition, which bundles the full game with all of its DLC released to date (not that there's likely to be any more coming), will be releasing at the tailend of March, approximately a year since the game was originally released.

Coming to the PS3 Platinum range, the Homefront: Ultimate Edition will retail for a recommended retail price of £19.99/€24.99, and will come with 'The Rock' and 'Fire Sale' map packs as well as the 870 Express Shotgun.

You'll be able to get your mitts on the Homefront: Ultimate Edition on March 23rd in Europe at the aforementioned budget price. It's worth a punt too, offering a decent multiplayer mode with plenty of guns, vehicles and gadgets.

Are the platinum edition of PS3 games exclusive to the UK region?

The way I understand it the "Platinum" Edition games are usually called "Greatest Hits" in the US so in theory they should be identical .

Well all these people are going to jump into multiplayer only to rank up to level 75 in one match...

I agree, MP WAS decent and DID have plenty of guns, vehicles and gadgets... unfortunately it didn't have many players and most of those were no strangers to camping so it was traded in fairly quickly. I'm looking forward to seeing what Crytek do with the sequel.

Why would you buy this when you can get the Resistance edition of the game, which includes the 870 shotgun and early access to the Parrot Drone, auto repair and SCAR-L from GAME and ost other shops for £10 new and then just put £5 on PSN for the map packs.

In my recollection isn't "platinum" supposed to be the best of the best games that had sold a quantum fuck load of units?

I don't recall home front setting sales records alight and I certainly don't recall it being hailed as an amazing must have game either.

CoD, Uncharted, Elder Scrolls, Fifa, Killzone. those are the kind of games I'd expect to see in the platinum collections

personally i utterly despise the cover style of the platinum games, silver and bright yellow just looks cheap and horrendous, which is why i never ever buy platinum games, the best platinum covers were for the ps1 when it was just 1 silver border at the bottom

@9 I totally agree with you, platinum game covers for ps3 have disgusting design layouts on the covers, i still have my crash bandicoot 2 platinum cover for ps1 and it looks great. I think it has something in common with the hurrendous XMB, apart from that i love the ps3

It can be a Platinum Range and not be a Greatest Hit, and since there is no mention of a NA release date or a price, this could be a Europe exclusive or at least for the moment.

And @7, I believe the current requirements for a Platinum Range/Greatest Hit is that the game was on the market for about 10-12 months and sold 400,000(EU)/500,000(NA)units. Homefront was mentioned last year of selling over 1 million units, so this isn't overly-surprising news.

I liked this game I borrowed it from a friend and played it. The level were good but I remember the hard mode being a pain. Still i may get this and would recommend it.

MP had tons of guns, vehicles and gadgets, along with campers galore and crappy graphics. The 870 Shotgun doesn't mean much when experienced campers with sniper rifles sit and pick you off as you attempt to complete objectives. Battlefield 2 was way better, and BF3... wow.

Homefront had a great idea and didn't fully realize it, which is sad. I don't know that I'll ever platinum this game, but it had its moments... sort of like a date at a junior high dance. And what a relief it is to leave junior high!

The game will rank you up randomly with no warning. If you plan to get the trophies, you won't get 100% unless you're lucky. Other than that, it was fun. I wouldn't pay much for it though.
