This Week on the PSN [The PAL Vita Edition]
Written Tuesday, February 21, 2012 By Lee Bradley

The PlayStation Vita launches tomorrow. You may have heard. So here, for your reading/getting jealous 'cos you haven't bought one yet pleasure is the Vita Edition of the PlayStation Store Update. It's jam packed.

Below you will find details on all of the stuff that will hit once the Store updates later today. It includes the entire launch line-up, plus apps, DLC and videos. Sony maintain that it is their strongest ever platform launch. It's certainly one of the largest.

Worryingly, digital editions of Vita titles work out more expensive than their retail cousins. In the UK anyway. SavyGamer has done the maths and reckons that it's 17% cheaper, on average, to find the best deals at retail. Plus, you get one of those lovely dinky little game cases if you go to a shop.

However, it's massively disappointing considering that Japanese and North American PS Store prices are cheaper than shops. Beyond convenience, what's the point in downloading? And why the UK?

Anyway. Just so ya know, we'll be adding retail Vita releases into our weekly 'In Stores Around the World' posts from here on in.

Lol at how cheap Motorstorm RC's dlc is. Thats some cheap dlc trophies. Is it also being added to the PS3 store soon too because I dont have a Vita but want to buy it because it is made for both?

If that's what the Vita is going to be like, I'll send mine back right when it arrives tomorrow. >:(

The prices for games are a joke, PSP games normally cost half that. Ok i know the Vita is a hell of lot better than the PSP but at those prices aswell as console prices i think ill wait till theres a dramatic drop in price, which is a shame cus i was really looking forward to getting one

Wake me up IF Sony stop playing with their "handheld" and realise they made a new console last decade which needs some attention

Ah, good to see there will be a few demos available on launch and a few free AR games to download. Shame the digital versions aren't cheaper than physical but I'm sure that'll change eventually. Motorstorm RC is what I'm going for straight away seeing as it's for PS3 and Vita.

From a trading lawpoking of view it should be completely and utterly illegal for digital products to be more expensive than hard copies....it's common sense, less product = less value. Anyone who pays those prices are just downright dumb.

So if the online passes and locked out content has carried onto the next playstation hardware I dread to think how we the consumer will get shafted on the ps4 console because the outlook doesn't seem to tell a pretty story

These prices aren't dearer if you look online there the same price and if you go instore they will most likely be dearer.

I got excited when I discovered Super Stardust Delta only cost £7-£8. I thought it would cost within the region of £10-£12! The reason I'm excited is because I get a £5 discount voucher on this game! It looks like a masterclass Twin-Stick Shooter!

It would be awesome if we could get the Australian prices on these lists too (chances are they'll be more expensive than a straight currency conversion). With that said, anyone know the AU price of Everybody's Golf for Vita? Picking my Vita up from the shop tomorrow, so if it's no cheaper, I may as well grab a retail copy while I'm there.

Even though I'm too poor to get a vita right now, whenever I do get one, all I want is the Plants vs Zombie game and that's it. Well, that and perhaps that Twitter app...might get me to get a Twitter account up and running XD

But...Plants vs Zombies for sure :P

Digital copies should be cheaper than the real thing we all know that but I doubt we'll ever see a reasonable price here the the UK cause of the government refusing to give out tax brakes to the gaming industry thus why they probably charge extra to claw back some profit.
