SEGA has announced that a demo for its future-shock robot shooter, Binary Domain will be on its way to download later this week.

Offering two early missions taken from the Rust Crew's campaign set in 2080 Tokyo, you'll get to test out the game's consequence system playing as Dan Marshall, whereby helpful squad actions gain trust and foolhardy actions that put your team in danger lose you trust.

You'll be able to grab the demo from February 15th, giving you ample time to sample Binary Domain ahead of its February 24th launch date in Europe and February 28th release in North America.

The previews for Binary Domain look promising. Hopefully it plays better than SOCOM 4 with its squad based mechanics. Sega has struggled to put forth a truly great game this generation, so hopefully BD can do that for them. Nothing against Sonic, but I grew up. Vanquish rocked, but with no multiplayer, it lost fan interest quickly. If BD has a good multiplayer, it could garner more Sega followers.

Cool, I was hesitating about this title. I'm glad I'll be able to try it.

Lots of goodness this week on the Store BTW : Binary Domain demo, Mass Effect 2 demo and Far Cry 2 for free (PS+). Excellent !

Looking forwards to playing the Demo this week, it's a shame there's no multiplayer map to try out as well. Seeing as the multiplayer is what is going to keep this game kicking after the campaign.
